USC Morning Buzz: `Expect To Win’

EXPECTRecent USC coaches have created a motto for the team that they print on signs and place in locker room entrances. Pete Carroll’s was “I’m In.” Lane Kiffin’s was “Lock In.”

Steve Sarkisian’s mantra is“Expect To Win.” It’s  a carryover from Washington. Since the Huskies were 0-12 the year before Sarkisian was hired, it makes sense. But USC’s expected to win for the past 125 years, right?

  1. So what would be YOUR motto for the team, Scottie?…..or can we expect you to post a poll on this?….

  2. I wonder if anyone will know that Scottie just copy-n-pasted a UW image of the slogan and not the USC version?

  3. Scotty, please revise your OOC schedule for SC in 2016. Please add Alabama to that list. Now how does that stack up with the others?

    • A guy broadcasting in Milford, Connecticut, just reported this so expect the blogger to report this later today with no attribution…

      • I hope it happens. Alabama has said they have no OOC scheduled for 2016 yet. This would be much better than some game in Mexico City. Now only if it were a home and home series.

    • I wish you hadn’t told Scottie about this – it will just fuel the Kiffin attraction for the next two years.

  4. Hey, it beats the former regime’s slogan:

    “It’s not my fault!”

  5. isn’t it amusing that although it is often asserted i am always the first to post here, the Dummies are virtually lined up to complain first thing in the morning!!

    completely crazy!

it’s like if you walking on a street lined with restaurants, but at one, dozens of people are jostling in line to be first through the door, and at the same time you hear them complaining to each other how crummy the food and service are. you would think these people were utterly insane!!!

welcome to Inside Southern Cal!!! where the bicheen NEVER ends!!

    • Well, you’d have been the FIRST to post, as usual, had you not had a wild time last night at the Gym Sports Bar and overslept this morning……

    • Not everyone here gets drunk every night and has a hangover in the morning, delaying the day’s activities.

      • i would argue that is WORSE!! now you have people who are too damn cheap to pay but STILL complain about the free stuff!!

and we KNOW the majority of trOXans (by their own testimony) are filthy rich!! even worse still!! Rich guys clamoring for free stuff and STILL complaining!!

what would you think of some guy eating a free dinner at the Fred Jordan Mission sitting there in a Armani Suit complaining that the cranberry sauce is too watery???

        Our DUMMIES!!!

    • Way to almost rip off Woody Allens joke in his opening monologue from Annie Hall where he mentions one woman complaining, “Boy, the food at this place is really terrible” and the other says, “Yeah, I know; and such small portions.”…….

  6. At USC, winning is never out of style, Scott.

Even my Bunco sisters know that.

  7. I told Mother that I wanted a new Diamond Back, but she told me to expect a Schwinn.

  8. The Pete Carroll teams were expected not to just win, but to dominate – I like that.

But the best slogan goes to Al Davis – “Just Win, Baby” (not to be confused with “Just win baby blues”)

  9. The Sark’s motto for SUCC’s 2014 season: “Expect 5 losses and lots of excuses.”
