Pete Carroll On Dillon Baxter

Former USC tailback Dillon Baxter is getting a tryout this weekend at the Seattle Seahawks rookie camp. Here’s what Pete Carroll had to say:

“I’m excited to see him, I really am. It was fun to be on the field with him because I watched him as a freshman do extraordinary things. I think his senior year in high school he was responsible for 75 touchdowns.

“He was one of the best players in America. Things didn’t come together and work out, I’m glad we could give him an opportunity to get in our camp and see what he can do. We’ll move him around some, he’s an extraordinary athlete and we’ll see how it shows up.”

  1. Off topic…sorry ’bout that.
After all the disparaging comments from the ucla folk about USC being such losers in baseball, I notice that just yesterday the bruins lost their eighth straight game. Was this a typro? I’ve got to know! Normally I could care less about what is done over in Westwood, but one of my bruin buds brought it to my attention last night. Oh well, each to his/her own obsession.

      • Not really, more like people who live in glass houses shouldn’t……

        • Who could forget the SUCC FB’s Westwood bill boasting about an “Unfinished Bidness” FB season – now known as the Kiffy/SUCC’s sombrero season.

          • Goldfish every time you open your mouth you stick both of your smelly feet in your mouth. Curiously 1954 was the last time SUCC’s Basketball team was in smelling distance of the final four – like 6o years ago. As usual, SUCC fails when there is 1 and done pressure. SUCC does best when votes decide a Championship and can be purchased.

    • LH – I’d guess that impending potential loss of Jackie Robinson Field might be another factor – that and well bluntly it is typical ‘ucla my sucla’

    • UPDATE!
      ucla baseball lost again yesterday.
That’s the 9th in a row and but 1 victory in the last 14 games.
Service return for all the previous mud slinging out of the blue.
But I will keep our little secret. To mention it would be crass and immature.

  2. Sometimes flowers are edible. I noticed that they sold them at Albertson’s supermarket.

  3. Carroll was a master recruiter while at SC and now in the pros he looks for guys that have/play with an edge about them. DB might fit that to a tee.

  4. SEA’s HC and GM policy is to take ‘also-ran’s deposed by other teams and re-make them into their type of player – their NFL draft picks mirrored the same – they repeatedly traded upper numbers for lower draft selection and find a less fancy player for a specific need.

Kudos for PC – we all know this is driving Mora nuts – the guy who replaced him is the reigning NFL Champion HC.

    • Yes Kudos to PC for using Mora players. Let’s not forget Commie SUCC, UCLA rules LA FB.
