USC Morning Buzz: Basketball Lands Westchester Guard Elijah Stewart

Westchester shooting guard Elijah Stewart committed to USC yesterday during his campus visit. He is ranked the 65th-best player in the nation for the Class of 2014, which is why no one expected him to stick with Loyola Marymount, where he signed in November.

As I mentioned in March, speculation grew he would go to USC when Andy Enfield attended a game even though Stewart was still officially signed to Loyola. He got out of his letter of intent after the season.

  1. Do you think the fact that the head coach of LMU was fired impacted his decision?

  2. And Stewart is ranked as the 40th best prospect, according to SCOUT………

  3. He was able to get released from his scholarship bc the LMU coach who signed him was fired – so yes. Also, now we can see why Wesley left SC. Better to find a school that needs a SF than become the 6th man by mis season for USC.

    • And, by the way, USC’s 3/4 star recruits are more likely to stick around for 3-4 years. This is a good thing. Ucla fans should be a bit nervous.
