Serra Star Adoree Jackson Disqualified From CIF Prelims Track Meet

IoS_22789663

In a stunning development, incoming USC freshman and current Serra High School long jumper Adoree Jackson, who holds the top mark in the nation, was disqualified from the CIF Division IV prelims last weekend for “receiving communication electronically” during the meet. Jackson reportedly watch video of himself, which is considered a rules violation.  Here is the rule:

“The use of electronic communication devices is permitted during meets in unrestricted areas and coaches’ boxes; however, they may not be used for any review of a referee’s decision or to communicate with an athlete during a race or trial.”

A track expert, who did not wish to be identified, said it was a fairly blatant rule violation: “It’s bad. You can’t do that. It’s cheating.”

  1. Way to feed the trolls Wolfman!!!! Ridiculous responses from the bRUINS in 3…..2……

  2. Save yourself some time Succ, I’ll say it for you…..”he’ll fit right in”

  3. His high school coach should have been aware of this rule. Not he kid’s fault.

  4. Adoree: one more month and you’ll leave these bush high school athletics behind.

  5. Sounds like coaching to me. If only Kiffin couldn’t communicate with the players during a game then we might be better off.

  6. This ‘stunning development’…was previously posted on WeRSC as well as the LA Slimes TWO DAYS AGO! Is this what is ment by ‘jet lag’?

  7. Yahoo Sports reports: This obviously raises questions over letter of the law vs. spirit of the law. If athletes were never permitted to watch video of themselves during a meet, then Jackson was in clear violation of the rule.

That, however, doesn’t appear to be the case. It seems a shame so many coaches were so willing to eliminate one of the state’s premier senior athletes because he watched video of himself in the wrong place. Perhaps everyone would have been better served with a warning.

So in reference to your “unidentified” track expert it was NOT a blatant rule violation.

  8. NATTY #100 for the USC Trojans, thanks to the men’s tennis team!!!! Fight on!!!

      • You didn’t answer my question from a previous post scott, how many MEN’s titles? Can I answer for you?

        • The ghost blogger will not reply. I wonder is such a blogger could censor himself?

        • Is the implication that women’s titles are somehow lesser of an achievement?

        • At least most of us on this page graduated from USC, unlike you!! haha.
You’re just a FOLLOWER…and a sorry one at that. What a loser, you didn’t go to USC but you spend all day every day on this page and post more than anyone else. Pathetic.

The only bit of divine justice…that you know you are pathetic when you look at yourself in the mirror.

          • I’m a fan of USC football, get it right, idiot!

You graduated from USC, but clean heads for a living. That’s beyond pathetic.

          • You were a used car salesman in a sorry part of North Las Vegas until you got “laid off” for harassment. That’s why you have so much time on your hands and you spend all day on here.
I am the owner of a boutique firm that often brings me back to my beautiful alma mater to do business with the university’s top brass. I knock idiots heads and clean their clocks out for a living when they try to talk about things they know nothing about.
Do you often go back to visit Handcock College?

          • Perhaps if you pay $49.95 you might get some accurate info. It must suck to clean heads for a living and have to lie about it.

PS…… I have never heard of Handcock college, sorry!

  9. USC men just won the NCAA tennis championship.
We should hear from Wolfie in 3……2……

    • I guess it’s taking WeRsc a little longer than normal to write the article. …….

    • Juan carlos may have this blog right. He doesnt have censor problems but he never posts anything of interest. Funny how that works…

  10. “It’s bad….it’s CHEATING” (emphasis mine)

Powerful stuff, wolfman. Obviously watching a tape of yourself is a huge advantage. Just like paying players, changing numbers, deflating balls etc etc

    Oh, and Sweeeet Scooopin’ wolfman!!

    • …….and having multiple usernames is also cheating. It must suck when your whole life revolves around this blog

      • Haha! Did you really just write that, you “moran”? Your whole life ” “revolves around this blog”. Who are you trying to kid, kid?

        • Paying $29.95 for info is a true Moran!

PS…… get back to work, the heads look filthy

  11. Still waiting on your reaction to Stewarts and Metu’s commitments- after all, to hear you tell it, these top 100 recruits have agreed to play for a bum!! What the delay Wolf?
As for Charlie Bucket, his response will be short- he is on his way to a Lady Gaga event

  12. Quick question. …why wouldn’t the track expert wish to be identified? ….especially if the rule violation was fairly blatant, as reported? …..sounds pretty lame. ..

  13. Can the moderator please clarify what is offensive, inappropriate etc and then have a consistent standard applied?

    • You have a valid point. In many cases, it seems to depend on who’s on duty and their subjective/arbitrary attitude. I’ve said things that deserve deletion but pass and vice versa. In the end the Moderator is the blog boss. It’s not what’s good or bad, but what the Mod. thinks is good or bad.

    • Here’s your clarification: if you harass and do nothing but make attacks on USC fans, it’s perfectly fine. You can even do it for 10 years.

However, if you criticize one of the trolls, Wolf, or one of Wolf’s screen names, it’s OFFENSIVE.

      • agreed with Helen. I really don’t mind the trolls, they are funny and I like to laugh. Its provocative to see how little I can say to get them to react. Its too bad that they are so sensitive along with the beat writer who posts on this blog. He used to have a screen name way back in the day under Munro where he would tout ManUnited so this multiple web personality is deep rooted. I’m going to start conjuring Munro on all of the new posts… See how long it takes a long deceased personality to reappear.

        • I agree. Why do you think I keep coming back here? I was literally laughing hysterically when Wolf/Bucket was deleting all the posts as if were going to cure his halitosis.

It’s the ultimate irony when the trolls are the ones getting irritated!

      • You’re spot on with the selective tolerance by the moderator…. it’s hilarious about the sensitivity to oral hygiene on this blog…..have a Tic-Tac…..

  14. Hey CIF, this is 2014, people carry these devices that are a phone, computer, camera, movie screen that fits in your pocket!!!!! Get with the times. Are track refs and sensitive as baseball umps, can’t stand a review of their calls?

  15. amazing how news from a week ago is no being reported by Wolf. This was covered by the local newspapers including the rag that pays you almost a week ago.

  16. The meet director Van Latham, a Stanford grad failed to designate an area for video review as allowed by rules. Mr Latham’s oversight has unfairly punished this athlete.

  17. Sounds like Adorable will be a fine addition to the rich cheating tradition of Southern Cal! Blatant Rule Violation On!

  18. “A track expert, who did not wish to be identified….”

Translation: That quote came from Wolf.

    • Reminds me of that “soccer expert, who did not wish to be identified….”

  19. He should have gone out to bucket’a 1969 van and used his recording devices!
