  1. In the USA this sport – soccer – is of interest to the average American/Canadian every four years – World Cup – ‘sometimes the Olympics.

What I find amazing is this being listed as something interest and not one word on this site of the Kings winning the Stanley Cup last night.

Soccer is a ‘no go’ “because” the best athletes elsewhere play soccer – in the USA they don’t and never will.

Congratulations to the Kings – the Los Angeles Kings

    • The San Diego Chargers 2nd round draft pick moved to the US as a teenager. He showed up at the High School for his soccer physical, The freshman football coach told him he’s playing football. Now he’s in the NFL. That’s why soccer will be a minor sport in the US!

    • who cares about Hockey. Soccer is an international sport, while Hockey is played in Canada, some parts of the US and some parts of Europe. If Hockey was a real sport you would be able to view it on ABC, CBS, FOX, or NBC, not MSNBC. If the Kings had not been playing for the Stanley cup NOBODY in L.A. would care about it. Nationally the ratings for Hockey are so low, that nobody wants to invest money in advertising. FACT!!!

  2. I think you should start a separate men’s soccer blog.

Leave the Inside USC stuff to us posters, for good.

  3. Scotty will always just be Scotty. Futbol and creepy pictures of stocking cheerleaders will always be priority #1

  4. Mr. SLO (AKA TrojanFail), how is the commute from where you live in nappy North Las Vegas to San Luis Obispo where you attended school because you couldn’t get into USC?

      • Mr. SLO, You never applied to USC, never attended, have no real personal connection to USC either, yet you spend all day writing asinine comments on our team’s blog just like Bucket.

Do you see what’s wrong with this picture?

You, sir, are a BANDWAGON FAN of the worst kind.

          • You kiss Mr. SLO’s butt all the time as if you’re practicing kundalini….but it figures because both of you write ignorant, racist posts way too often. The majority of us could do without both of your silly comments.

Lowlife cheapskate third graders you guys are.

          • You are a nobody who know nothing about USC and has no insider relationship with the athletic dept like I DO. You are NOTHING. And you now NOTHING. So crawl back in your hole and keep kissing your own hole. Scott KOWNS me and that’s why I can do what I WANT to do.

          • “who ‘know’ nothing”
            “And you ‘now’ nothing”
            “Scott KOWNS me”
and you got on me for “reductions”?

  5. Thoughts? I’ll give you thoughts. This blog is titled “Inside USC”. That doesn’t stand for “Universal Soccer Conversation”. Soccer relates to USC just how, other than our club team coached by Nuri Erturk back in the day? They even had a night ‘friendly’ with ucla at a local South Bay high school 30-40 years ago.
I personally love soccer. I refereed soccer at the pro (8 years-USSF) and collegiate (13 years-NISOA) levels and have written numerous books on the subject. But, unless a USA national team suddenly strikes pay dirt (fat chance), your soccer fetish belongs somewhere else. Either that, or 86 the title for this site. Call it something else, and attempt to become the Jim Murray of sports.
Check out the words of Jack B who responded to your data desperation thread and stick to the subject unless there is a relatively big deal in local or USA sports…Kings-Stanley Cup, as an example. In other words, take Rooney, England, Colombia, Costa Rica and use as a suppository as far as this blog is concerned.

  6. that SOB Rooney cost me $2800 on Saturday, as I had Colombia, Costa Rica, England and Ivory Coast in a 4-game parlay to win. Rooney, I hate you!!!
