World Cup Talk

BRAZIL.MEXICOMexico goalkeeperĀ Guillermo Ochoa puts in the performance of the World Cup in an exciting 0-0 draw, as strange as that sounds to say. And Belgium comes back with two goals in the second half to get past Algeria asĀ Marouane Fellaini did more in one World Cup game than an entire season at Manchester United.

  1. Yesterday I was reading GP’s blog at Wearesc and he was talking about how Adoree Jackson tipped a pass into the hands of Su’a Cravens at the first summer players only practice session, and that it only took “20 minutes” to make a statement as a supreme athlete – that was good reading. Then I come here, on what is supposed to be “inside Sc info” and I am reading about this garbage??? (edited version) I wish Scott could borrow some competence from GP, the world would be a much better place.

    • Amen. This a blog about USC athletics, not World Cup soccer. Who gives a sheet about soccer? Probably a bunch of bel Arians who grew up in TJ.

      • Wow! …That’s mighty white of you…and uppity as well! (That Torgan arrogance thing always smells BAD). A man, many of us admire, Carlos Santana grew up in the streets of T.J.. He is undoubtably better off than all of us on this site..don’t you agree?
        Hey Mikey…You related to Nubsie?
        fit Un knuckleheads!

        • Yes, I enjoy Santana. Liked Jerry Garcia much, much more. Is he better off than all of us? No, I don’t agree. He grew up in TJ, big deal. I used to listen to him practice in the home he owned in San Anselmo in the late 70’s. The only time you heard him was from the cheap seats at some festival in Sylmar.

          • The “amen” comment was more than just a validation of another commenter’s opinion. The comment also contained veiled swearing and racially charged language, and so, yes, it was deleted by a staffer assigned to moderate the comments.

Often we will try to edit comments to retain them, but sometimes we don’t have the manpower to devote as much time to our comments section and instead simply delete comments that violate our comment policy.

Keeping comments free from personal attacks on other commenters, swearing (even “disguised” swearing), and posted from original singular accounts that don’t attempt to ridicule or mimic other commenters will ensure that the comments are left standing.

            Thanks for reading.

          • Gina, you and your staff are a large group of hypocrites. The comment “amen” was meant to exactly affirm the comments above. How can you or your staff know that it was anything else but that? Veiled swearing occurs on this blog daily and you allow it. You indiscriminately delete posts based on your poor judgment and interpretations. Racially charged? Jeez I mentioned Muslims in another post. You better go clean that up as well.

  2. US and Mexico will live and die by their goalies. The back lines are toast!

    • I am fortunate to have the health at the moment to play soccer three times a week, and am truly a fan (of Italy) – still I would rather read some gritty details about a summer work out session on an Inside Usc site than hear about goalies winning a moral victory in a 0 to 0 contest – Sorry! Cmon man, Adoree Jackson is a potential sensation!

      • This is what fat, baId and lazy gets us. The DN needs to replace this guy
