I’ve always opposed the idea of USC wearing an alternate uniform but I’d favor a throwback helmet being worn for a game if it looked like these classic 1962 models, sported by receiver Hal Bedsole in the 1963 Rose Bowl.
Bedsole was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2012 and is the first USC player to have 200 yards receiving in a single game. He holds USC’s greatest average-per-catch for a career at 20.94 yards (with 30 or more receptions). And “Prince Hal” was a member of the 1962 national champions. I’ll feature another member of this team later today.
Classic idea Scott. Uniform changes are to make your team look fresh and excite recruits lets get some older look that will excite the AARP crowd. The same crowd that cares if the shoes are black and watches Fox news.
