World Cup Talk

Penalty or dive? Even the soccer analysts were divided on whether the Netherlands deserved a penalty kick that beat Mexico, 2-1, in extra time. What can’t be disputed are the Dutch being real contenders to win the World Cup. Telemundo cannot be happy Mexico is out if the tournament. Can Costa Rica stay on its hot streak?

  1. Telemundo is not televising the world cup. Univision is. Come on Wolf, I’m a fan, but you need to research before you post.

  2. Not enough grease on the Surf Rat shoulder of the goalie. Surf Rats are TIED. How EXCITING. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  3. Game shoulda gone to extra time. The Dutch played well but that was an untimely make up call for the missed first half penalty on Robbin’ ( pun intended). El Tri deserved more. Goooooo Trojans and Fight on, el Tri.

  4. 49 matches by the other day, and 137 goals, an all time Worlld Cup record
if converted to American football scores it would be14-10 over and over and over again except for the occasional 0-0 scores
No wonder America does not embrace this game of very few scores

  5. Oh man, NubsTheSmallMindedRacist makes such a compelling argument about soccer being boring….I guess I won’t watch another soccer game again.

Haha, poor guy. The cheapskate needs sports where they rack up points left and right because he can’t appreciate a sport where every other detail counts.

  6. Guess if this is the World’s most popular game, and Countries have major riots when a game is won or lost when aided by a call, seems there should be “instant replay” on such a critical call??? Where was the ref on the field (how far away) when the penalty was called, to get a good look?

  7. How close was the Ref in seeing this play clearly when it was called? Shouldn’t instant replay be used when there so much acting going on the field (surprised screen actors guild isn’t involved with WCS) to get a call this critical? I mean something like this causes huge riots…
