I’m focusing mostly on players from the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s right now because they tend to get the least publicity but I’m going to mention offensive tackle Marvin Powell (1974-76). He was a two-time All-American and member of a national championship team. He also played in five Pro Bowls for the New York Jets . So why is he underappreciated?
Because Powell is the only USC football player who is in the College Football Hall of Fame but not in the USC Hall of Fame.
