World Cup Talk

The U.S. and Belgium are locked in a struggle for the final quarterfinal spot. Are you on edge? Will the U.S. wilt?

    • Looks like Chicken LIttles negative energy has been duly rewarded….

        • You seem to interpret Wolf negativity as being him being a “realist”…….okay….. I get it…..that’s about as positive as you’ll ever get…..and your sarcasm has been duly noted……

  1. Down 0 – 1 in OT – so be it – it appears Fort Eban Emmel shall prevail!

  2. It appears that the U.S. are wilting like Scotties hairpiece on a hot, humid day….

  3. Not a soccer fan except in the World Cup, and only if the US is playing, but that was a heroic effort by our boys in the closing minutes. They tried and tried, and actually made it a dramatic finish after being behind 2-0.
Again, soccer’s problem with an American public weaned on American football is that there is no reward for a beautiful march down the field (whereas football has the consolation prize of a field goal), and goals (i.e.. touchdowns) are too difficult to convert
But if the game matters i.e. USA is playing, it is an exciting sport

  4. Nice to see a soccer/tennis center at the old Sports Arena – start a mens soccer team and have both men/women use it and when we play bel-air tech we’ll do home/away at the same site just like we’ll do, per that move by the ACLU, when we play baseball…
