Clayton Johnston Picks USC

Offensive tackle Clayton Johnston of Servite High School announced he will attend USC. It was no surprise as Johnston’s been expected to select the Trojans as soon as he was offered a scholarship. He is currently a three-star prospect. Now that he picked USC, we will see if the recruiting services upgrade him.

    • Tim, I don’t disagree that Scott has belabored some lesser issues and concerns.

      However, I have observed that a USC offer/commitment does appear to elevate a less-acclaimed player among the scouting services. It may be a form of indirect flattery–the scouting services believe that USC coaches (and those at other major programs) know more than scouting service employees. I would like to think the coaches know more.

I’m not sure if Clayton was offered by UCLA, but if he was he turned down an education at the #2 public Univ. in US, and a chance be apart of a FB team ready to contend for a real NC in FB. Instead, Clayton, decided to attend SUCC, the #80 private Univ. in US, play for a Pac-12 FB team in Sark transition, and a Univ. that can’t afford to fund/field a Men’s Soccer team or Women’s Softball team.             We once sat in section 18 and it was nothing but people who told us to ‘sit down’ in front.

            The Coliseum received funding from various sources during the depression similar to how improvements are paid for in ALL Olympic Games. Anyone remember what transformation happened in 1984?

            The writer likely knows very well his statement was a huge reach to criticize PSLs.

            Why would a real ruin fan defend Pat Haden charging us season ticket holders extra? Would you want to be charged fpr a PSL to sit in your seats in the Rose Bowl? You are a fake, perhaps Cheap Lies new handle..

  7. I came to this site to get some useful info on the Trojans’ latest FB commit, and look what is here. Smack. What’s worse, irrelevant smack. UCLA and Cal are taxpayer-subsidized schools, so if they want to pay for Peace studies and Women’s studies departments, and fund women’s (and men’s) soccer, they just put it on our tab. Anyway, welcome to the Trojan family, Clayton. Fight On!
