USC Morning Buzz: O.J. Simpson’s Gear

SIMPSON.2

Here is the actual jersey and helmet worn by USC tailback O.J. Simpson during the 1967 season, including the famous 67-yard touchdown run against UCLA when the No. 4-ranked Trojans defeated the No. 1-ranked Bruins, 21-20.

  1. wolfman, you never fail to amaze!!! even on a holiday, you have no qualms about giving the Dummies a humiliating kick to the crotch!!!

    Sublime!!!

    • You are completely overlooking the obvious crotch kick that #4 USC gave to your beloved #1 ranked Bruins. ….commence with your usual childish Yesterday U gibberish. …

      • blews, you obviously haven’t seen the 67 UCLA/SUCC game. Be sure blews, to swallow some tobacco juice on this 4th of July. Ding -ga-ding.

    • Hi. That’s not very nice. There is no need to swear and curse in order to make your point. It makes you seem childish. But of course, you have already chosen a character from a children’s movie as your handle characterization. Perhaps your behavior is congruent with your role model. I digress.

You should be happy on this glorious day which we celebrate our nation’s Independence. Unless of course you are a traitor.

Have a happy 4th of July my friend Chucker Buckers.

      Sincerely,

      Juan Carlos

        • Tsk tsk. Why so mad? I am willing to help you with your internal childhood regression issues. But first you must be willing to let go. Can you let go Chuckers Bucker? Forgive all those that tormented you when you were a child. Do not let those negative experiences dictate your current self expression. Do not let those that taunted you as a child continue to express hatred and anger. Do not let your father’s abandonment of you have ill will to your blog brothers. Do not let your mother’s denial of her left breast during feeding cause a general feeling of lack now. You can overcome these experiences. You can do it my friend! You can do it!

          Your friend,

          Juan Carlos

          Happy 4th.

  3. When Simpson was at SC he was a God. Not only a great athlete but mixed well with all the students, jocks or not

And he had great moments, especially beating SUCLA in 1967 with his 64 yard run

What he became has nothing to do with his tenure at SC

    • Knowing what we know now, do you think OJ was a myth, a creation of the USC SID and an America desperately wanting to embrace a black hero in the Age of Martin Luther King, imputing values and a heroic character on a man that he never really held?

      • ‘Being There’ has to be one of the top 10 movies of all time.
        thanx for the memories.

    • it has EVERYTHING to do with OJ’s tenure at Southern Cal!!!
young men are formed by their experiences.
look at Woody’s record in this regard. his players are overwhelmingly successful in their fields and in life and they attribute it to life lessons taught by Woody!!!
OJ was shaped by Southern Cal. and judging from some of the trOXan vermin on this blog, i don’t see how anyone can dispute the empirical evidence!!!

      • So how do you explain Darryl Henley, is that Terry Donohue’s fault?

        • Explain Sean Salisbury first – depression and Low testosterone? A Dead Spin Hall of Famer.

          • Not to my knowledge and it would be foolish to do so. There are many factors involved and to try to pin a crime on one’s college coach is ridiculous.
I’m not blaming Donohue. I’m just turning logic that has been laid out by trolls around and using it against them.

      • You are wrong. OJ came from a rough section of San Francisco. That was a factor in molding his life. I have an idea for him to had gone postal on Nicole and Ron Goldman may have been part of the environment of his youth that calls for a guy to lash out at an indivual who disrepects him by fooling with his lady.
There are hundreds of other USC students who dont react the same way when someone fools around with their girlfriend.

        • You know, I like when someone knows what the helll they’re talking about…and you are right on here. I heard directly from some people from the bay who say OJ was one bad mutha…shut yo mouth!!

His Hertz good guy persona was phony.

          • My wife’s grandmother used to say that OJ couldn’t be guilty because she had seen him so many times at the Brentwood Country Club. She just couldn’t reconcile the two ideas.

This was the same sort of logic by which she once insisted that airplane turbulence isn’t as bad when you sit in first class.

        • Wasn’t Nicole’s head almost cut off by OJ before Ron showed up with the glasses? He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, he wasn’t messing with OJ’s ex.

          • A lot of people think the “returning her glasses” story was baloney and that they were hooking up. Not that it would justify murder, of course.

          • Since Nicole was legally divorced she had every right to hook up with whoever she wanted to, especially with OJ in a current relationship with Paula Barbieri at the time of the murders. But as I recall the hostess at Mezzaluna asked Ron to return the glasses and a friend of his was waiting to meet him after he was done with his shift.

        • How did OJ, in an orgy of blood, do Ron and Nicole in a jealous frenzy, then drive home w/o leaving one dab of blood in his vehicle?

  4. O.J. was a great athlete;just as formidable on the track team as on a football field;it is sad that almost 30 years after his time at SC the trials, etc…seems everyone has judged him guilty and therefore guess non of them worry about being judged in the same fashion,by the same standard;to be worthy of death, for me the evidence needs to be beyond any reasonable doubt whatsoever…was it??? HE WAS A GREAT ATHLETE,REGARDLESS

    • Jury nullification has nothing to do with evidence, Yale.
We all know that once the trial was moved downtown OJ was going to not be convicted. Luckily Nevada justice ultimately prevailed.

  5. To reply to marvgoux1, no doubt it was a combination of the two
To the Ugly Bucket, if a Trojan said today was Saturday you would say it was Sunday and give the credit to the incandescent Scott Wolf
