Underwhelming. Soulless. Devoid of Style and Imagination. If I wanted to see mere imitations of famous people I’d go to Madame Toussaint’s Wax Museum. Just awful. There are some that are good ones on USC’s campus-The Trojan Shrine aka Tommy Trojan, etc. but there’s a lot of dreck. I swear, most of the sculpture at USC from the past 40 or so years is just cornball awful(Wild Bunch, Traveler, Douglas Fairbanks, G. Tirebiter, & Drum Major) or mind-numbingly bland(Neil Armstrong, Eadward James Muybridge).
Look Trojans, the standard for sculpture is Ancient Greece & Renaissance Italy, not hokey, sentimentalism.
