USC Morning Buzz: Player Spotlight

Monte Clark was USC offensive lineman from 1957-59. He then played in the NFL for 11 years, including the Cleveland Browns from 1963-69. After he retired, Clark became an assistant coach, notably as the Miami Dolphins offensive line coach in 1972 when the team went 17-0.

Clark then became head coach of the San Francisco 49ers in 1976 and then probably became best known as the Detroit Lions head coach from 1978-84.
