One Vote For USC?

Did you expect USC to get only one vote in the Pac-12 media poll? It seems a bit odd that UCLA received 37 of 38 first-place votes in the Pac-12 South when both teams are considered to be top 15. Maybe the media is remembering Steve Sarkisian’s Washington record in big games.

  1. Or they’re buying into the preseason hype even though UGLY doesn’t have a shot in the dark at beating Stanford or Oregon.

    • That’s fine. USC doesn’t have a shot in the dark at beating Stanford or UCLA.

      • Time will tell. But USC beat Stanford last season, meanwhile UGLY had lost to Stanford 3 times in a 12 month period. And when was the last time UGLY beat Oregon?

          • We could hang it right next to the UCLA banner, “We beat a roster depleted USC team in back to back years…Thank you, NCAA!”….

          • Excuses, excuses, excuses. Yet in your next breath bleuz ,you’ll start Rah-Rahing about SUCC defeating Stanford. Which is it.?

          • Relax, you former Sea King, relax….why can’t we celebrate beating a top 5 team with an undermanned team?……. UCLA sure did after the 13-9 game….clearly a double standard, I’d say…depth related issues are FACTS, not excuses…. you just hate hearing about it, or else it would diminish your teams accomplishments, that’s all…

          • SUCC is history orientated. “Gosh Commie298, tell us about the 1923 SUCC RB team. What was it like when UCLA didn’t have a FB team. SUCC was Fab then, uh Commie298.”

          • And UCLA doesn’t hold on to the sacred Wooden era as if it were some kind of a basketball dynasty for the ages, when they clearly dodged playing Long Beach State (read that again…. LONG BEACH STATE) lead by Tark the Shark and they went to the NCAA because only the conference champion of the Pac-8 could go on to the NCAA tournament?

          • That’s a nice conspiracy theory but we were playing hoops after it was first invented in 1890 long before there was a ruin campus and yet we never won one championship. Stick to football smack Garry Bleauz.

          • During the Sid Wicks era UCLA met LB State and escaped on the last second shot by Wicks. The NCAA tournament was just for conf. champions then – and in my opinion, still should be. The NCAA selection process in now less objective and panders to TV money.

          • ….and ucla should hang a banner: “We beat USC last season”

If you guys beat USC your season is considered a success, pathetic. Moral victories are worth their weight in gold….LOL!!!

          • Another unforced error…Did you forget Pete Arbogast’s Perfect Day, CowPolyFan3.0? Wifey the real SC alum won’t be happy!

        • “Time will tell”? You are so profound, FlamerOn!
You will definitely win the interview portion of the “When Nerds Attack” Comic Con Convention Best Star Wars Costume contest this weekend!

      • Like we didn’t have a shot in the dark against Stanford last year…..anything can happen, Valley Boy…..

  2. Did you expect to Jack Wang to named by ESPN as the “InsideSoCal” media representative doing the pre-season voting, and not boy Scotty? That was refreshing, and here’s the quote;

    “Rock the vote

One of the big storylines today will be the release of the preseason prediction. Pac-12 media members are invited to cast their vote on what they think will happen at the end of the season. You can see how the #4Pac voted. (Yeah, that is what we’re calling ourselves now. Thoughts?)

A few more ballots from other media members:

Jon Wilner, San Jose Mercury News

    Ryan Kartje, Orange County Register

    Doug Haller, The Arizona Republic

    Jack Wang, InsideSoCal

    Christian Caple, The News Tribune

    • Gotroy22 aka Michael Sondheimer is going to be upset that all his hard work with the daily News “insideUSC” is going to waste.. Too bad he is forbidden to have any contact with anything UCLA after his current predicament.. 8 clap and a towel wave for J.Wang!

      • BM is going to be upset when he discovers that Layla and Golly-Nerd booted him out of the suite at the Bahia because of his IBS issues making the room “stuffy”.

    • Scottie was pouting, as evidenced by his lack of participation in the numerous writer posts on the “live coverage” feed, except when it came to things related to USC….

      • Poor BM is pouting, as evidenced by his liking his own posts…IBS is a drag!.

  4. Why is it surprising? UCLA clearly has the more talented team all across the board and a MUCH better coaching staff. Have fun getting pwned by the Bruins AGAIN this year.

  5. As long as Mora stays in Westwood, USC will take a back seat to the Bruins. Recruits in the 2016, 2017, and 2018 classes will have gone through their high school careers without USC ever have beaten the Bruins.
