Two quarterback scholarship offers in one day as USC offers Santa Margarita quarterback KJ Costello. The Trojans have now offered three quarterbacks from 2016: Costello, Shea Patterson and Malik Henry of Westlake.

USC Offers QB Shea Patterson
USC offered a scholarship to quarterback Shea Patterson of Shreveport, La., the No. 1-ranked dual threat QB for the Class of 2016 according to Rivals. Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma are among the schools that offered Patterson. He decommited from Arizona last week.
Former USC QB John David Booty was the last Shreveport quarterback to pick the Trojans.
Some Track News
USC assistant coach Berry Shumpert, who coached the jumps, left after only one season to go to Tennessee. His departure shows the growing pains the track program is going through as it tries to demonstrate it can be more than a sprint program.
The `Amway’ Coaches’ Poll
I did not even realize until today that the coaches’ poll is now the Amway Coaches’ poll. How fitting. After dealing with some of these guys, you could use a cleaning product to wash away the lies. And some of these guys would make good Amway salesmen.
On the other hand, it’s probably too good a product for the college basketball coaches’ poll. Steve Sarkisian is among the voters, who I list after the jump:

Seahawks Sign Ronald Johnson
The Seahawks placed tight end Anthony McCoy on the injured reserve and replaced him with another USC player, former Trojans wide receiver Ronald Johnson.
USC No. 15 In Coaches’ Poll
The preseason coaches’ poll is out and USC is ranked No. 15, which is completely expected. Oregon is No. 4, UCLA No. 7, Stanford No. 11, Arizona State No. 18 and Washington No. 25.

USC Morning Buzz: Athlon Predicts 9-3 Season For Trojans
Athlon’s projects USC to go 9-3 this season, citing the defense and Cody Kessler as team strengths while depth and playmakers at wide receiver are “obstacles to overcome.”
