Offensive Line Status

This was USC’s first-team offensive line Monday night:

LT Chad Wheeler

LG Toa Lobendahn

Max Tuerk

RG Khaliel Rodgers

RT Zach Banner

That’s a major question mark on the right side not to mention a true freshman at left guard if things stay this week. Aundrey Walker could start if he gets over his limp. But even if he is back, there are big questions about this unit.

  1. Why don’t you finally tell us something we don’t already know Scottie? Try writing a column on USC’s o-line. Your average 16 year could come up with one easily if he researched for 30 minutes and had access to the 2014 media guide.

      • Stanford, ASU and especially Oregon literally knocked ucla out last year. Too bad you can literally never handle the Cardinal or the Ducks. I watched the Ducks disintegrate you while eating at L.A. Live. The place was filled with bruin haters, all cheering and yelling as the feeble bruins got beat up. Does anyone even go to Westwood, er, Deadwood, anymore? Have all the restaurants and shops just closed down there?

        • Westwood is a great place if you want to watch a movie or pick up a falafel…………..

          • I saw Star Wars in Westwood back in ’77. It was always a boring place with theaters.

As usual, USC beat ucla that year too: 29-27.

          • The new iPic Theaters are pretty nice……otherwise, most of the theaters are fairly drab…..1977….the 1978 Rose Bowl on the line for UCLA…..

          • And the neighborhood around SC is better than Westwood? Bleauz Buddy…football is a better argument for you!

          • Westwood isn’t a bad area. Just nothing going on there. Businesses doing badly there. It’s like a morgue. Downtown L.A., as dangerous as it may be, is at least alive, growing and clearly the place people are going. New hotels, plans, events. Nobody goes to Westwood anymore. Or do you hang out there, alone? And it’s not like your campus is safe either. Lots of crime at ucla, as you well know. And guys running around with knives trying to stab women right on campus…wasn’t that just last week?

          • I don’t know drone. Why don’t you find out for us and let me know? That’s a good project for your feeble, wandering mind. Keep me posted.

          • The success in Santa Monica has affected Westwood greatly. Downtown LA is making some great progress. All in all, Westwood is safer than Vermont/Hoover area around campus. There has been crime at UCLA, most of it property related and sexual assaults. All campuses have issues. SC has a deeper problem with the murders and gun issues in the area. They aren’t really comparable.

          • I think SC’s area problems are deeper too. But I still say Westwood is boring as hell and it has not been affected greatly by Santa Monica. You’re dreaming. Whether you like it or not, downtown L.A. is where most of the progress, by far, in the Los Angeles area is happening. Maybe you’ve never been to Staples and that area. Westwood is an absolute morgue, graveyard compared to that. And they are comparable. One’s exciting and new and changing. One’s looking worn and committed to the old status quo. I’m sure you’ll disagree. Neither one of us will be changing their mind, I’m sure.

          • Downtown L.A. is a different neighborhood than the neighborhood around SC. And yes, I have been there many times to Staples, Nokia Center, Club Nokia, L.A. Live and a number of restaurants. I would imagine a lot of SC students now head up Figueroa a few miles into downtown. That make a lot of sense and I have seen it first hand. But it shouldn’t be confused with the area adjacent to campus.

For years SC students would head to other areas for entertainment, including Manhattan Beach and Santa Monica. UCLA students come to Santa Monica because of proximity. And yes, the Promenade area and downtown Santa Monica have become extremely crowded and busy while Westwood has suffered. Santa Monica has indeed affected Westwood. I could ask you the same thing you asked me about downtown L.A. Have you been to Santa Monica on a weekend evening?

          • As I said. I’d much rather be closer to downtown L.A. than Westwood. The SC campus is about a mile anda half from Staples and all the new development hotels and restaurants. Right there. It’s not a “few miles” as you suggest. Hollywood is a few miles. You would obviously prefer Westwood and must enjoy being there, which for me would be strictly a drive-through location. No reason to even stop. Santa Monica is great. Westwood is nothing, yet bruins always crow about it. Compared to the Staples area, Westwood is like a old folks home.

          • Believe me, I wasn’t comparing areas, as the hood is no place for anyone, especially after dark…..my comments were purely addressing Westwood, which, as Jack B has already alluded to, is simply boring……Westwood is the gateway to Brentwood / Pacific Palisades and Beverly Hills…..

        • Stinky B, UCLA didn’t lose to SUCC in the crumbling SUCC mausoleum 35 – 14 did they.

          • Way to change the subject to your favorite fall back position….. besides “yawn”, of course……

          • Stalker alert. My little puppy is trailing me around again.

Beating the Trojans is all you bruins care about, even though you are on the losing end of a 46-30 runaway series romp by the Trojans.

1954 – the only glory year. Problem here is nobody remembers it.

            Stalk On!

          • hey, let’s pretend it’s still 1940, or 1970 or 2005. Let’s pretend SC’s still a contender!

          • Let’s pretend the little gutties will ever win a football conference championship. Why is that so hard for you bruin losers? Why?

          • UCLA will win a Football conf. Championship easier and sooner than SUCC will ever win a NC in Men’s Basketball, Men’s Soccer, Women’s Softball, or Women’s Gymnastics. Ta, ta Stinky.

          • UCLA 35 – SUCC 14 and 2, count ’em 2, snapped ankles. Snivel on Stinky.

          • ……and the ruins can’t win the big game when it counts……you just put your foot in your mouth

            TROLL ON!

  2. USC has the OLine talent, they just have to find the right combination for this offense..
