Jabari Ruffin Tears ACL

USC defensive end Jabari Ruffin tore his ACL in practice today and will be out for the season. Ruffin’s injury means Quinton Powell and Scott Starr aka Felix will probably get more playing time.

  1. Sorry to hear about this Young Man. The defense is in big trouble because of past recruiting mistakes. $UC’s infatuation with OVERATED Q.B.’s and wide receivers has resulted in glaring weakness in key areas (up front on Offense and Defense). Throw in all those with the “Dreaded Character issues”, and today’s team is what you are left with. The injuries won’t stop with Ruffin. You are in for some SEVER BEATINGS this season. All of the sudden the Fresno State game has become a “must see” game. This season COULD end up being the Unforgettable season of …………………YUP….you guessed it……4 & 8…now ain’t that G-R-E-A-T!!!!!!!
Unfortunately….potential recruits are going to be left scratching their heads…saying to themselves…”yea I could go to that dump and get plenty of early playing time….but do I really want to play at a school where “500 Ball” is the expectation?”. MORA THE SAME!
    fit Un RAH RAH’S!

  2. Playing on SUCC 100 yard practice field sounds like the kiss of impending injury.

  3. As I recall, Sark spoke at Pac-12 Media Day about the great success at Washington in preventing season-ending injuries.

I’m still waiting to hear which of the Stanford/SF 49ers conditioning methods have been adopted by USC, and why USC doesn’t use the GPS monitoring system that is in place at FSU, and was recently adopted by Alabama.

What about that, Sark? What about that, Haden?

    • You will find out that Sark is full of crap. The guy only cares about being a play calling wizard. Ivan Lewis’ strength program didn’t have good results and in 2012 there was a rash of season ending injuries and a few ACL tears. Looks like that bug is now biting USC.

      • I am Shocked – Kiffy is now spelled Sark? Maybe 7 – 5 is way too optimistic on my part.

          • so queeeeer how this lil’ retarrd hangs around here DEFENDING the trOXans to whom he has no connection when they would rather be CAUGHT DEAD than associate with a north Vegas low-life…

it’s like some slow kid from Continuation School trying the hang around with the “cool kids” from the local normal high school!

(in this case, thought the “cool kids” are bigots and haters!!!)

    • Saw review of Stanford on Pac12 Network. They discussed the strength and conditioning there. Apparently more about stretching and flexibility rather than lifting weights. They do weights that are football movement specific but not so much of the bench press/squat type stuff. My question would be what is their injury ratio compared to other Pac-12 teams? My guess would be same number of major injuries such as ACLs but perhaps less muscle pulls but I don’t know of any documentation. They certainly lose players like everyone else.

      • Buzz, as I understand it, these GPS monitoring units really helped FSU to stay healthy. They pinpoint vulnerabilities which can be addressed in athlete-specific conditioning. They disclose excessive fatigue, which leads to poor form and injuries. They helped FSU peak physically on game day, not in practice.

Alabama implemented them in the Spring. That says something to me.

Stanford and the SF 49ers supposedly have fewer injuries than in the past. I never read that the improvement is only strains and sprains.

Why no GPS units at USC? That’s a criticism!

Is USC completely familiar with the Stanford protocols, and has it implemented the best of them? That’s just a question!

        • I understand that UCLA is using the GPS system. Don’t know how it is turning out. Since they are practicing out in the desert I can see how it could have many uses.

  4. Maybe when Mama get’s finished with that plate of fried pork rinds and is tipping the scales at 430lbs-450lbs…he can be “LOADED” on to the defensive side of things.
    fit Un!

  5. It’s a shame to see these sorts of injuries. Feel bad for the kid. Not SC fans though. Just the kid.

    • agree, bad luck for the kid. and as much as i like to see the Dummies suffer, i wanted this year’s UCLA-Southern Cal game to MEAN something when we trash them. at this rate, not looking good.

      • Now keep an eye out for the Trogan cry of “we only have 55 scholarship players”. They have 72, actually, but let’s not let that stop a good sob story over at Yesterday U!

        • We now actually have only 70, with the two recent season injuries, but no excuses here……we’ll play anyone with whoever we have left….Fight on!

          • You may smell it, but you refuse to bet it, unlike Safer and Annie nimmus…..you old COWARD!

          • Actually, you have 66 healthy players on scholarship, but why would you know that? How many does UCLA have? How about Alabama? Or UW, Stanford, Cal, Oregon? See, you’ll cry about those turrible snactions without ever really looking at how they’ve impacted the program. Typical torgan.

    • Glad to hear that YOU feel bad for the kid…… Owns can’t seem to gloat enough about our players going down…. that aging schmuck celebrates each and every injury incurred by a USC player…. he still mocks the “snapped ankles” of our players last year at the hands of UCLA…..I would disown Owns, if I were a troll……

      • But you’re not bleauz. The snapped SUCC ankles were incurred during game conditions, and so was the Barkley collarbone break or shoulder separation. I celebrate no SUCC injuries. The really bad thing about you bleauz, is you’re a compulsive liar. When facts don’t fit your argument, you bleauz, fabricate lies to support your milksop opinions.

          • I’ll actually say that I LOVED the Barr hit on Barfly. Nothing better than seeing Mr. “Scoreboard” on his back, agonizing in what turned out to be the last real play of his football career. Barr’s a player, Barfly’s a short-term clipboard holder. And THAT is the difference between UCLA and USC today – one program’s shaping future NFL stars and the other is SC (see the recent comments on how lazy Lee is for further proof). Remember on!

        • I call BS, Owns….you’re a liar……game conditions or not, your morbid joy that comes from a USC kid having season ending ending injury is disgusting and undeniable…..give us all a break and just leave….

          • A SUCC 0 – 12 season would suit me just fine. Just imagine no you you bleauz.

          • Watching BARR (over and over and over and over again) destroy Barfy, while your BONEHEAD Tackle was “SNOOZING” is a thing of BEAUTY! UNFINISHED business was finally finished.
            fit un!

        • And when you have no retort, which is quite often, you simply “yawn”…. and please don’t lie again and deny it….

      • For the record, I am the original Owns – check out my member page – going on two years with this name, and have had my handle well before this thoughtless person who mocks a kid’s injury.

        • If you say so Cheap Lies. I’m UCLA OWNS LA FOOTBALL. Run with the RB bit Cheap Lies, since subterfuge is the only way snivelers like you can compete. See you in Nov. Bunky.
