Freshmen Receivers Stand Out

Bryce Dixon made two touchdown catches today, both from Max Browne. Dixon enjoyedone of his best practices of camp. Also making plays is freshman wide receiver Ajene Harris, who made a couple big catches including a touchdown. Rahshead Johnson also caught a TD pass. Adoree Jackson (foot) did not practice.

Juju Smith is doing so well at receiver that Steve Sarkisian now says he is reluctant to move him to defense.

  • Scott has something positive to say that is unsolicited even? Its a good day for Scooter for sure. Maybe he met up for some bromance with his troll friends?

    • UCLA Bleauz

When Scottie is cornered into saying something positive about the team it must kill him. But as well as they have been playing in practice, even he couldn’t spin this into a negative, or drag K***in into the conversation…..Thank God…..

    • Sounds like Satan is speaking through you today Nazarene…taking your pet dinosaur for a walk this morning??

      • Bucket, I don’t like you but the good lord loves you.

Ha! And I thought receivers was supposed to be our weakness this year.

Here’s a quote from Scottie from Nov. 7, 2013: “USC offered a scholarship today to Crenshaw quarterback Ajene Harris as a safety/defensive back. He is committed to San Diego State and ranked two stars by Rivals. Sense a pattern here?”

I guess the pattern is to utilize our coaching staff to find the best players no matter how many stars Rivals/Scout/ESPN give out.

    • SoCal_Native_59

Commonly referred to as evaluating a player. Good coaches and knowledgeable fans prefer it to counting stars. Lazy reporters who know little or nothing about the game tend to rely on the services. The problem is some, rivals, tends to favor one region, southeast, to others, or upgrade recruits who attend their camps.

    • Larry Harris

If I am not mistaken, Ajene was/is ranked as a 3*. It would appear that so far in his brief stint, Harris is surpassing more than a few players ranked at 4*.BLOOD LINES TELL!. It has been brought to my attention that he is probably a cousin of mine on my fathers side. Figures! We jocks gotta’ stick together.

Which I believe Sark mentioned, but Wolf does not listen.. “do not get caught up in stars, we are recruiting the best player to fit our system” …
