Former Rams Center Doug Smith’s Son Likes Trojans

Former USC assistant coach Doug Smith, better known as an all-pro center for the Rams, came to USC practice yesterday with his son, Cole, who is a center at Mission Viejo High School. Cole Smith has been offered a scholarship by USC so you can expect him to be a Trojan unless something happens like too many commitments, etc.

  1. What are the “etc.”, Wolfie?…….Academics? …Too many centers?…..speak up…don’t be shy…..we all KNOW that you’re NEVER at a loss for words…..

  2. Etc = Or if he wants to compete or if he doesn’t want to play for a four-win team like Pops!

  3. Bruins get Ulu-Perry, the best C in the country and SC gets this kid. Struggle ON!

      • Actually, I agree. But what UCLA has, that USC couldn’t buy, is a guy who knows how to identify future offensive linemen stars and coach them up in Coach Klemm.

        • Remember, Haden tried to buy Klemm’s services but Klemm turned PH down. Is it an wonder SUCC has inferiority complex.

          • Klemm is a very good coach….you should be flattered that we thought highly enough of him to pursue him as we did….he made the choice that was best for him…. nothing wrong with that…and I’m quite happy with Trevno, thank you very much….

        • Klemm is one of the best at what he does, no doubt…..he has single handedly changed the attitude and play of UCLA’s OL….

  4. The funny part is that in Wolf’s header he is “Former Rams Center Doug Smith’s son”.. Not Cole Smith the 5 star from Mission Viejo.. The kid doesn’t even have a name for himself that scott could use as a title!
