USC Training Camp Thought No. 1

JALEN.GREENE

Hans Gutknecht/Los Angeles Daily News

It’s not crazy to say that the gap between Max Browne and Jalen Greene is closer than the gap between Browne and Cody Kessler as Week 2 continues at USC.

  1. with that THIN O-Line (FIGURATIVELY SPEAKING), i think what you are SAYING wolfman, is that Maxie is going to be thrown into the fray SOONER rather than LATER!!!

in which case it could be…Uh-OH!! Spaghetti-O!!!!

    #RunForYourLifeCody

  2. Maxie’s long face about to get a little longer? Best QB in the country….just like Barfly!

  3. Scottie: I’m sure you wouldn’t get a single beat writer to agree to that statement. You need to start attending practices.

  4. Based on what, Scottie?…. please share your specific observations with us instead of posting some lame cryptic statement……Arm strength? (you had alluded to this before) Accuracy? Running ability? Pre-snap reads?……Have they even implemented the majority of the playbook yet?

    • IF SCOTT IS GOING TO PRACTICE, I suppose it’s his general impression, which I don’t discount, because he has made some shrewd observations in the past.

Still, provocative comments do warrant some explanation, and good writing in general thrives on keenly observed, well-expressed details.

      • I agree…. his opened ended comments exposes his laziness, or he simply doesn’t care about doing a thorough job…..I get the impression during his radio interviews that he’s bored with his job…he seems to be just mailing it in sometimes….

    • He read from other sites that Browne has been throwing many interceptions the last couple practices..

  5. If and it’s a big if, CK suffers debilitating injury (i.e. out for 3 wks or more) SUCC’s 2nd & 3rd string QB’s have zero game experience. Worse scenario for Browne, Sark/SUCC selects Greene (absolutely possible) to run SUCC’s offense while CK recovers. The Sark/SUCC FB program is under max pressure to WIN, w/o the capability to do so.

    • Take a look in the mirror. If Hundley goes down UCLA is doomed. He is that whole team and you have nobody with any experience to back him up. We just have the #1 QB from past recruiting class.

      • Best response in last month. Nice work, T.T.!
(Be prepared for lots of unhappy Bruin replies).

        • we actually have the guy who won the Elite 11 in Woulard. And little Neu’s far better today than Charlie Browne.

          • Yes, but to use a bit of “logic” from Owns, will Woulard ever even see the field of play as a starter with Rosen coming in next year?……Owns was all up in arms last week about Browne transferring because Town was coming in next season and was possibly better suited to run Sarks offense, which may be true……well, could the same be said about Woulard and Rosen?…these kids need time to develop and may the best man win…. they can’t all be four year starters, nor should they want to be, with the beating their bodies will likely take…

          • bleauz you do understand this is a SUCC blog. The topic is CK, Browne and Greene, but you keep going on about UCLA. Thanks for the Bruin recognition. bleauz pipes on.

          • You can’t be serious…..this blog is a free for all!…..heck, Scottie spends have of his time covering Kiffin, Alabama, the Michigan and Florida marching bands… give it a rest, old man….oh, and “yawn”….

          • Half not “have” bleauz. Your expensive private education (courtesy of TaTa & MaMa) slip is showing bleauz.

          • Thank you for being the official proof reader of this blog……I’m sure that your trolling counterparts are keeping you quite busy…

          • It is free, just that we are so tired of the same losers witht the same crap being spewed. Little guttlies run along and play in your own little playground. You remind me of liberal, you don’t understand “go away”.

          • You just hate being held accountable for your previous comments, don’t you?…. is that why you immediately change the subject?…. I thought so…

          • Multiple deletions of your comments by the moderator in the very same day….. VERRRRY impressive, Gramps….but at least your spelling is correct….

          • Once again bleauz you’re using you head as a rectal thermometer. I will be very surprised if Mr. Town signs with SUCC.

Now the San Clemente QB SUCC recently offered is a much different story, if he can stay healthy. The guy seems to love running into and over people.

          • And once again, you have completely twisted the focus of my comment from you to me….were you the President of your high school debate team?… I bet that you were……the sample size for Sam Darnold is a little small, with only 3 starts before getting injured, but, like you, I like what I’ve seen so far…

          • “Snoozers.” But I did get the rectal thermometer part right didn’t I bleauz. You’re very versatile SUCCster.

          • You use a rectal thermometer to cook your Thanksgiving Day turkey. ….no wonder you have such a crappy outlook on life. …

        • BH has a mean O-Line in front of him. CK is not so lucky. CK’s center shotgun snap is near him only 3 out of 5 times, and nobody else is blocking.

          • All good observations — but, let’s face it, BH doesn’t stay in the pocket…he takes off sometimes. And, although I hope he stays healthy, anything can happen.

      • TimmySUCC, I thought SUCCster’s refuse to mention UCLA on this blog. So thanks for your interest in UCLA. RN son, Little Neu, will be 20x better stepping in BH’s shoes than Browne or Greene are stepping into CK the tree stump’s, concrete shoes. SUCC loses on.

        • What are you smoking? Little Neu? That is hilarious, Robin Williamsesque, God rest his soul.

          • Also, nobody is refusing to mention UCLA. What no true Trojan will do is go to a UCLA blog and spend my days spewing trash. That is for weak frustrated little Bruins.

    • How much game experience does Hundley’s back up have?…….most back ups have limited experience…look at the QB’s on Alabama’s roster…..the only major blowout we had last year was against Cal and Wittek took the majority of the snaps in the second half…..we also wanted to preserve MB’s redshirt status….and EVERY top school is under pressure to win, including UCLA….especially with the revenue that these games generate for the school……

      • The major difference betwixt UCLA and SUCC, bleauz, is UCLA has a horse prepared to go wire to wire. Little Neu, just in case he’s needed, has more game experience than the sum of all SUCC current QB’s excluding CK. bleauz, thanks for thinking of UCLA’s horse in your rambling tirade.

        • “Betwixt”? Are you going Middle English on us?….. I didn’t think you were THAT old….speaking of SRU-CLA, you NEVER post on Wang’s blog… why is that?….more comfortable being a hater instead of being a fan?

        • So you are saying that UCLA’s back up QB is prepared to play and is game ready?… okay……back away from the crack pipe, Owns Syndrome….

          • Neu has 3 years of preparation and game experience to run UCLA’s offense when necessary. Browne and Greene have no game experience or knowledge of Sark/SUCC new offense.

          • Next year, not this season…..Oldtimers disease is setting quickly, isn’t it?….

          • Gee bleauz maybe you should worry about SUCC’s 2014 season first. No one is blocking or tackling and, of course, you know that, hence your 2015 SUCC season reference.

          • Again, when your boy goes down injured, season over, take it to the bank. You got nothing and no fact to change that.

    • You love bringing up hypothetical injuries of USC players, don’t you?….once again, you are not-so-secretly wishing that these kids wind up having season ending injuries just to serve your selfish needs….

  6. The gap between Green and Ajene Harris, if they put him at QB, would not be much would be my guess. Some reputable sources say Harris is as good as any receiver in California (that would include the adored Adoree). Harris’ high school tapes look good and his passing not bad. Learning the system and the play book is another thing but everyone says Harris has got the play book mastered already.
