Ajene Harris Is No. 3 Wide Receiver

AJENEIf USC played a game today, freshman Ajene Harris would be the Trojans’ No. 3 wide receiver. Now part of that is because he is an ideal slot back, which is position that is part of the new offense. But it’s also true that Harris is having a good training camp and probably outperforming players with more publicity over the years.

“He’s earned it,” USC coach Steve Sarkisian said.

A natural question is how this relates to another heralded freshman, Juju Smith. The truth at this point is Smith is competing to start at one of the two main receiver positions.

  1. Sources say Ajene Harris is having an outstanding training camp, with comparisons to what Adoree Jackson could do on offense. Pretty lofty comparison, but could be what keeps Jackson on defense.
