Even USC coach Steve Sarkisian admitted he is surprised at how physical freshman wide receiver Juju Smith’s been in practice. Smith does not look like a freshman and Sarkisian even asked his coaches how Smith compared to Marqise Lee at the same stage.

    • Yep, we’re talking practice – imagine the upgrade come game time you little snot.

      • Salbug, you ugly, vile crone, ” Twinkle twinkle little star…” JuJu may one day be an exceptional wide receiver – but only pond scum like yourself would live vicariously through a true freshman FB player, and expect superior performance even though JuJu has no actual game experience.

    • Haven’t you been crying about USC not scoring a TD in practice back in April?

Not only do you not read the other posts to which you respond, I don’t think you even read your own.

  1. USC’s recent success with freshmen
WRs looks like it might continue. Just yesterday, Harris was named the leader to play #3 WR in 3-receiver formations.

It’s not surprising that Smith is “physical.” I have read elsewhere that he is a large-framed athlete, and he was considered by many to be an even better prospect at safety, so he doesn’t mind the collisions.

Will he beat out Rogers, who is taller, also pretty big-framed, and very sure-handed? Agholor faced an analogous situation as a freshman (a more challenging situation, actually), and didn’t play all that much.

I guess that Smith’s “style” is not considered as ideal for the slot position as that of Harris, and I’m not sure why that is.

    Does anyone know?

    • It’s interesting that Sark sees him more like a Marquise Lee. With the physicality, I wonder if he might have Mike Williams’ ceiling. The more and more I see this guy, the more I think USC really landed someone special.

It’ll be fun to watch his development. I definitely think he makes an impact right away
