Coaches v. Top 25 Teams

The Wall Street Journal produced this graphic that illustrated how coaches fared against teams that were ranked in the Associated Press top 25 poll. Stanford’s David Shaw is the best with an 18-8 record. Most coaches do not have winning records. Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops is 50-23 record, the best among long-time coaches. Steve Sarkisian is 8-18.

Not sure what USC’s ranking was last year when they took Stanford down ‘but’ 3 of his losses were against OR (2) and USC and the lone OOC was against MI St. –

I sense Stanford is declining – not just last January’s Rose Bowl but Shaw’s own demeanor in pre-season – he s not exhibiting a lot of confidence going into next week’s opener.

As good a coach as David Shaw is the same thing that hit Notre Dame will eventually hit them

We should all be pleased Stanford is the 2nd game – I doubt Stanford is pleased.

According to Wolf’s thread chart, Stanford’s David Shaw is 14 – 4 against top 25 competition.

Similarly 298, SUCC Steve Sarkisian is 8 – 18 against top 25 competition.

Pedantically, and mathematically, Shaw wins 77% of his top 25 games vs Sarks 31%. There I conclude that Stanford and and David Shaw just can’t wait for the SUCC FB game – neither can I.

Yes a Shaw took over a team that was a top 5 team the year before and had the table set. Sarkisian took over a team that was 0-13 and going down hill. Again, you should worry about little Jimmy and your ruins because they have not won a big game in 15 years …….

        • Amen brother – time to set these guys straight – Don’t they have ANY pride? Look in the mirror Ruins, and tell us what you have done – zzz – that’s what we thought!

Pick Six Previews, the most accurate human website in America, has picked the USC Trojans to win the South division.

      I guess that settles it.

The question for FOtV, do you believe Pick Six Previews prediction, or is the Website controlled by a SUCC fan?

It doesnt matter what I believe. Pick Six Previews accurately chose ASU to win the South last season when everyone else was talking about the LA schools.

Im just putting it out there because Wolf only seems to report on negative information.

        • UCLA owns LA Football

          Fair enough.

        • Sark and the Seven Win Wonders

With what QB? And what offensive line?

          • FIGHTONtoVICTORY

Wait, was that a rhetorical question or are you trying to ask Pick Six Previews a question through me?

            now that was funny!
