Freshmen Line Thought

Toa Lobendahn is obviously the top freshman lineman and should start against Fresno State. Damien Mama and then Viane Talamaivao are behind him. The freshman who gets mentioned least is Chris Brown.

That’s not necessarily unusual because freshman traditionally redshirt but it’s obvious right now the coaching staff has a clear pecking order and there were questions before camp about how the freshmen would shake out.

  1. Drevno clearly stated that he wanted to identify the best 8 linemen in order to establish a rotation….so, yes, a ” clear pecking order” is required……

    • However, that which is obvious to Mr. Wolf is totally different from that which is obvious to a group of highly accomplished coaches, who have been there in many big games in the past. When lack of knowledge and preparation is amplified by contorted logic and then is applied to superficial observations, the result will never be pretty.

      • Gee Sal, wrong again. Sark ithe magniifican is 8 – 18 all-time against top 25 competition

        • Way to be informed on USC head coach and record.. Whats the guys record at your “owners of LA football..”
          WAIT NO ONE CARES!

          • True stings doesn’t it BM. Now you know why U-Dub fans were so happy (dancing in the street, as I recall), to see Sark pay up and get out of town. LOL.

          • The truth about you being a USC fan? I dont care about records Pre-USC.. Its what you do at SC that matters to me..

          • Try Google for the answer. Any First Grader can do it. Quit selling yourself short Red.

          • (i.e. don’t bother me with facts)

I know your reading comprehension skills are painfully underdeveloped, but Helen asked what is called a “rhetorical question.” Occasionally slower readers think they need to answer them.

          • Actually I believe she was talking to you, since she addressed you by name – “dufus”

  2. So, Scottie…..any update or follow up on this “story” that you broke, over a week ago?

“We hear tight end Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick has petitioned for a grade change in a long-shot bid to regain his eligibility.”

  3. i stopped by the vaunted Lev OCR blog…..and i thought the trOXans had the ultimate Mausoleum!!

i made one comment and that elicited the only comments all week. apparently they like it very quiet over there…they DEFINTELY are not cut out for the rough and tumble world of big time Pac 12 sports blogging!!!

    #Shhhhhhhhhhhh!

  4. Mama and Talamaivao are also guards, and it is an easier position to learn and hide weakensses rather than tackle, which often forces one to be all alone. I.E., the Aundrey Walker experiment, 2012. Brown is a tackle.
