Who Was Elected Captain? Who Wasn’t?

USC announced its team captains tonight: Cody Kessler, Max Tuerk, Nelson Agholor, Josh Shaw, Leonard Williams and Hayes Pullard.

That’s six captains. Or to put it another way, nearly 10 percent of the healthy scholarship players are captains.

  1. Practically a whole team of Captains. Comes off as a bit desperate. No, don’t like it.

          • That’s the picture of the actress who played Violet Beauregarde in the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The picture of our TROLL “Charlie Bucket” is of the actor who played Charlie Bucket in the same movie. So this “Violet” is very likely the same person as “Charlie.”

          • Can you imagine how desperate Charlie is for attention and recognition? What a life he must lead…no family, friends, interests…other than a competitors blog. Wow! What a poor soul.

  2. Spread the wealth (pride) around

Besides, these six players are all very good and are deserving of the honor

And it is not unusual for a school to have multiple captains, so this is no big deal

  3. Scotty…6 captains is fairly normal. Same at UCLA. 2 for the offense, 2 for the defense and 2 for special teams. That is the usual math.

  4. As others have stated, pretty standard to elect that number of captains. Is there a larger point you are trying to make, Scott? If so, it’s lost on your readers.

  5. With the start of dumpster driving season just around the corner. Bucket was elected team captain for the 15th straight year.

  6. Scott if you hate USC football so much, why do you stay around? Just leave already.
