Why Anthony Brown Met Steve Sarkisian Today

The big meeting today where Anthony Brown quit the team and said Steve Sarkisian acted like a racist was actually scheduled for far different reasons.

Brown was forced to meet with Sarkisian because he missed too many rehabilitation appointments for his injured elbow, according to sources.

“He got called on the carpet,” a source said.

  1. Today? The facebook and twitter post were yesterday and it has been reported the meeting took place last week. Guess we’ll see.

      • He actually tried to quit last week and coaches convinced him to come back. True feeling was that he would contribute this year but he was to busy feeling sorry for himself.

          • I have no doubt Sark went off on him. The staff got tired of trying to please him and then he turns around skips rehab work. He deserved a good butt kicking.

          • Addition by subtraction. I still feel sorry for him. He’ll regret this missed opportunity which will cost him. Anyone want to hire a hothead with a bad work ethic? Step right this way…

          • Half your team is made up of hot heads with bad work ethic….Thats how they ended up at u$c in the first place…Gotta love those SPECIAL ADMITS.
            Fit Un!

          • Isn’t that awesome, and your head has half a brain.

          • Jack…I got your answer from another friend regarding tackle on Apisa in ’66 Rose Bowl. Tackle made by player named Coletto. Stiles near the play and was not really knocked out. Sounds like Bobby! But Stiles WAS a great player.

          • Wow. I’m shocked! I can’t believe you tracked down a verification.

I simply passed along what a seemingly trustworthy bruin insisted was true, despite the famous photo seemingly showing otherwise. Thanks for getting back to me, really.

I don’t know if you can picture the shot I’m thinking of (orange on the field in foreground, Ducky Drake holding up a collapsed Stiles in front of ref). My favorite sports photo of all time. He gave his all and had a big say in the game. He kind of put the finishing touch on Apisa but definitely took a solid blow and was swallowed up.

            Just a great game.

Prothro, the bridge player, was special and very interesting. Obviously a cerebral guy. Used to flip flop his lines. He and McKay, the enigmatic dictator with a gambler’s bent, both really broke each other’s hearts in some classic match-ups which spurred my interest in the college game.

  2. Later Brown…. Would love to see some of these kids NOT delete these things from their social media. Would show more backbone. If you’re going out on a limb, do it with pride and conviction. Don’t lash out at your coach and then run away whimpering, pulling back your statements. Makes you look like a child.

    • When I saw the Twitter post it was 14 hours before and I saw it early today. There will be images of it out there.

    • “Brown was forced to meet with Sarkisian because he missed too many rehabilitation appointments for his injured elbow”……sounds self inflicted, if you ask me. ….

    • Tattoos, OK I got to admit you do have a good sense of humor. If I had a dollar for every player that didn’t have a tat, maybe I could buy both our lunches. If we did lunch at your workplace, have big macs. ;}

  3. This is ridiculous. El Siete should resign. There is no reason to treat your players like slaves. Good for AB to have the courage to speak out!

    • Myles Jack should quit the team. Or Mora should force him out. There should be no place for someone who physically attacks his teammates.

  4. Hey Ugly Bucket and Free Shabazz: I don’t usually respond to SUCLA vermin, as you two are, but you two are exhibiting the most bias and extreme commentary on a case that deserves a little bit more objectivity.

Of course, your obvious extreme positions (SUCLA bias) poison any reasonable response to your arguments.

    • Johnny, have you read any of the national media on these stories? Maybe you should be more concerned about stopping lying and racism like the rest of the completely biased world. Unreal!

      #stoplyingandracism now!!

  5. I have to point out that Brown has been a bust at USC. He was projected as a great athlete out of Kaiser in Fontana. In reality he has been an injured cry baby. Don’t see much of a future for him in the NFL. Maybe he can be an arena football player.

    • I am a Trojan for life (BTW trogan??? don’t they teach spelling at those state schools?) I am pointing this out because the kid isn’t a team player. Unfortunately this kid picked a poor way to vent. Finally back to my point; there really is not much of a loss with this kid quitting. Also there is no sinking ship just a few drops on chicken little’s head.

  6. Oh? So Brown did not tell the truth either? Brown blamed being a sixth team running back on his “racist” coach. Of course the fact that all the players in front of Brown are afro Americans did not occur to Mr. Brown.

    • Afro American, LOL. But if you’re right, that is 2 lying Trogans in a week! What’s in the water at Clown College?

  7. Let’s just wait to Judge both until we know the facts. Josh and AB should be afforded that. These are 2 separate issues and will sort themselves out.

    • Love it, you car wear it with your daisy dukes. I will wear my shirt that says University of Rodney James Alcala, serial killer, AKA, University of California, Los Angeles.

  8. May Day May Day!!! Wolfie, Troybation U needs a “turn back the clock” tribute post celebrating their beloved no name athletes from the 70’s PRONTO!!!

    #stoplyingandracism

  9. I wonder if Wolf understands why nobody respects him as a journalist/blogger or human being.

That previous post was a low blow and completely uncalled for.

One of the very few things that Kiffin should be praised for is banning Mr. Wolf from USC practices. Scott is lucky, and I mean LUCKY that the school still allows him at practice.

I highly doubt many schools would let this joke slander the school like he does.

  10. In other news, the college football season opened last night, and the first casualty has already occurred.

South Carolina was rated No. 9 in preseason polls and the Gamecocks’ fan base had to be fired up for the game with Texas A&M.

But the other SC got blown out, and I would imagine their fan base has already given up on the season.

Another reason not to take your sports too seriously

  11. This site has hit new lows.

A blogger who believes journalism is stirring the pot; trolls who have no life and come here to make personal attacks; a site administrator who seems to asleep at the wheel; an owner who apparently is out of touch or doesn’t care.

Reid… Calling Reid Silverman to save the day.

    • If that is the best this third rate newspaper can do than this site is doomed. Look at all the turds the ucla site has had. Of course little excitement there. right trolls?

      • (psssst, Mikey, just between us….you ARE aware the MADDER you Dummies get, the MORE we laugh at you guys, RIGHT?

and don’t tell anyone i hepped you to this, i could lose all my street cred with the Cadre if they found out i was sharing intel with our adversaries)

        • Oh golly, thanks for letting me in on your secret. Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone. I will keep your delusional, immature, childish behavior and actions all to myself.

        • Not nearly as hard we we laugh at the pathetic little groupies of Wolfie, such as yourself and the dreaded “cadre”…..street cred…. you can’t lose what you never had, idiot….

    • well, Helen, you tried….it’s been nice. since you are leaving the blog now, please drop by once in a while to let us know how it’s going on Conquest Chronicles!!

i actually stopped by there yesterday and the main article was one PRAISING El Siete for passing his first “test” with FLYING COLORS!!!

can you freaking BELIEVE it??? he STILL doesn’t even KNOW what happened after rushing to PROMOTE a story many at HH did not believe in the FIRST PLACE!!!

i think you would be more comfortable with that kind of “journalism”

      (chortle)

      #ClownOn!!
