  1. On paper it seems they are evenly matched but I don’t see the game that close – Troy wins by >15. Stanford is big but if their game plan is the predictable one they used last year against both USC and MI St. then it’s a run offense – regardless of size and as good as the Trojans played last year in their upset of Stanford – this team at USC this year is much deeper and better coached.

    • That would be something. I think SC is better, but Stanford has that sick 18-game home winning streak going for them.

    • I’m saving this post for later in the year when the “we’re too thin, we don’t have any scholarship players” lines come out.

  2. u¢la is also trending downward. They opened at -24 and have plumeted down to -23.5 once it was announced that their vaunted QB contracted turf buttox in practice.

    • Lorenzo when you first graced this blog you were an affable fellow with a quick wit and the best ‘stache in the rough and tumble world of big time Pac12 sports blogging….

but now i detect a constant undertone of anger and cynicism!!

check your hat….i think it may be too tight!!

  3. of COURSE the line is shrinking!! that is the DIRECT result of trOXan suckers blindly betting their lunch money on the trOXans no matter WHAT the line is!!!

    • Treatment for your addiction to this blog is readily available, have you considered making a commitment to seeking a cure?

        • Excellent, you have taken the first step which is to acknowledge you have a problem. Be patient with yourself. Initially dismissing the idea of treatment is normal. You may be unwilling or unable to make the drive or spend the time, however now that the seed of treatment has been planted and taken root you are on your way to dealing with your addiction to this blog. You may notice small behavior changes, such as a reduction of your offensiveness. Having another person take treatment with you could be beneficial to you. The UCLA owns Los Angeles person appears to be similarly addicted. I suggest you reach out to this person.

  4. Funny, the only thing the trees have is a qb, wr, and one ol returning. I can see their defense being tough on our run but they had terrible pass coverage last season and nothing really new to repair it How does that work for any point advantage other than at home.

      • I believe you’re right, but. just like USC. it’s really their OL where they are still putting the pieces together, with only one returning starter, although it’s a great one, in Andrus Peat…..and they”l have a whole new backfield and TE…..and their defensive losses should not be underestimated either, with Trent Murphy and Shayne Skov gone…..

  5. If SC can pull out the W in Palo Alto, I don’t see many obstacles to them going into the Rose Bowl on 11/22 undefeated: You don’t have Oregon or Washington on the docket, and you have ASU and always unpredictable Cal at home.

    • I see it the same – if USC is victorious Saturday afternoon having a 10-0 record on the 22nd November is what I would expect w. AZ being the only game of concern.

As to Stanford’s home winning streak – South Carolina ‘HAD’ the record until a week ago this evening when a visiting TX A&M team defeated them – streaks are just that – eventually they end

      • I’m a 25-year season ticket holder and alum, and bleed blue and gold, but I also try to keep it real. You see us undefeated going into the SC game with what many sports commentators say is the toughest power schedule in the country? I’ll root for that, but we will need to make DRASTIC improvement over what we showed in Virginia.

    • Worst Case, if both Bruins and Trojans get past this week, Bruins lose to Texas and one of the Az teams, SC loses to OSU or one of the Az teams. Both will have one conf. loss when they meet, winner wins the South and goes on to win the Conf. Champ. and get in the Final 4. Barring any injuries and just plain college football craziness!

  6. The Trojans looked very in sync, which was a bit of a surprise for a team with a new coach. Can they win on the farm? I think so.

  7. A lot of public money is coming in on the Trojans, no surprise

Bucket keeps trying to barter with a wheelbarrow full of pork bellies, pathetic
