The Invisible Men

Juju Smith caught one pass. Adoree Jackson none. Darreus Rogers none. Bryce Dixon none. Good thing USC eventually won the game because their would be a lot of head-scratching over those stats if the Trojans lost today.

  1. Might want to work on that their grammar if you want to be a big writer one day Scott…

  2. Wolf, your thoughts are less than worthless. And the fact that you’re supposedly a reporter and you don’t know the difference between there and their is a disgrace.

  3. There were enough points scored to keep me from worrying about passes being caught. I’ll bet Scottie didn’t like going for the field goal. I wasn’t happy until it cleared and then I thought it was good call.

  4. Love it!!! Buck Allen goes for 150+ against Stanford and the story is about the WR’s who didn’t have an impact. 6.7 yards per carry with two true freshmen at OL… but the #1 WR was the only one with a good game. Good thing the LA Times has copy editors because “their” is some head scratching about the writing at the H.S. paper. Just call it nitpicking SC and call it a day.

  5. Scott…who won the game? How did the D look on the road against a ranked opponent? Were we able to run the ball? Are we undefeated in PAC play?

  6. Typical Wolfy. Can only focus on the negatives instead of giving credit where credit is due. U would would have thought SC lost if u just read this blog.

  7. Leave it to Wolf to find the negative. Perhaps the freshman had some issues with a good defense? Perhaps the game plan was to keep it close and play it conservative to hang around and win the game in the 4th quarter? No mention to Allen’s big day on the ground and the two true freshman who play on the offensive line. Typical Wolf negative as that is what sells. Maybe this week he will go to an entire practice.

  8. Scott only knows negative press. Boy if this was Inside Stanford he would have to burn the tree. Shaw looked like he had major indigestion.

    • The fried calamari and chocolate milk that he had before the game didn’t agree with him. ….

  9. And if SC had stopped running the ball and instead had thrown it more to the true freshmen on the road in a hostile environment, Wolf would be harping on that. What an idiot.

  10. Maybe Stanford’s defense, and being at home, caused Sark to call a more conservative game, giving them a chance to win. Which they did, in case you weren’t paying attention.

  11. Scott. …we had a total of 59 precious plays to go around…..almost half of number of plays that we had last weekend. ..Stanford dominated TOP in the first half. …give the Cardinal defense a little credit, would you?

  12. George Farmer was awesome tonight. Just when SC needed a spark in the second half, he made some gritty catches and gave a few stiff-arms to grab first downs.

This SC team is LOADED! With Sark, the good times will be here again faster than most believe.

    • Excellent point. …Scottie completely overlooked Farmers huge game and the fact that players can contribute more than just by catching passes…such as by blocking down field, Wolfman?

  13. Their? Oh so typical of an SCCC education. Doctora Brown must have taught grammar to El Lobo at the JC no show class.

    Go Bruins! 2-0!

  14. Stanford tripped over THEIR own feet to let SC stay in the game. I appriciate an honest critique. But how about some actual analysis of what the freshman did wrong? I did not see dropped balls or missed routes. I saw a 2 frosh o line and a frosh pulling guard crush the counter to spring Allen for 50. I assume play calling is limited with freshman. But I can’t take the bitching with no substance.

  15. My 11-year-old daughter caught the “their” error. (Really.) Both the Trojans and Bruins squeaked by today–SC’s got the momentum, however. Who knows how good the Bruins are? Not me. Just glad to be 2-0.

  16. Great game today, Trojans! Buck Allen ran it down Stanford’s throat, and the SC defense confused the hell out of David Shaw who took full blame for their defeat, which is highly stand-up. What the hell is happening to both U-Dub and UCLA, by the way? Struggling to beat cupcakes on consecutive Saturdays. I can’t wait to see each of those teams deal with a pissed off Stanford. And if UCLA doesn’t get better on defense quickly, they’ll lose 3 or 4 games this season – which is pretty horrible considering they predicted a spot in the inaugural playoff. Again, great Trojan victory in a tough place to play. Feels like we’ve got a great 5 or 6 year cycle brewing here in SoCal….

  17. Snark is Kiffin with a fat gut , he coached scared which is what he does unless vs crap Fresno

  18. JuJu was only thrown 1 pass…4 yards behind the LOS…into a sea of red. Poor guy didn’t have a chance.

  19. I do not understand the Game Plan this week.. USC has a TON of offensive weapons and none of them were used or even targeted? I understand USC wanted to RUN, but not using the weapons you have just astonishes me.. Again no TE targets!
