  1. That tells me that Petersen is used to doing certain things his way, and not the way of another coach

Does that mean it is better?

Only in the ‘World according to Wolf.’

  2. A former Toutonite at USC who does interviews and documentaries up in Seattle related to me he interviewed Petersen during the Summer and stated “…he’s a nice guy but he’s also the type that wants to see the questions before they’re asked.” i.e. taking a peek inside the manila folder.

All Trojans should be grateful Petersen is NOT the HC – here’s
a first year coach making self-pitying comments about the state of things. I didn’t hear Sark saying the same when he replaced Willingham and his 0-12 record.

Suggest Chris focus on playing smarter because he only has two scheduled patsies left – IL this weekend and GA St. on the 20th.

    • He’s lucky he isn’t 0-2 after barely beating that powerhouse Hawaii and a very, very good FBS team in Eastern Washington who had them beat, so did Hawaii if it wasn’t for that 95 TD pass.

        • I remember that little historical marker; it showed up when I was in school, when there was a parking lot on the site. I never saw Touton itself. The memorial always struck me as kind of funny — a historical marker for an old dorm.

          • Had to see it to believe it – all brick – four stories in height and just west past McClintock and 35th a huge open field all the way to Vermont with this big honking stunted palm tree and all this scraggly wild grass growing around it.

  3. Petersen is a control freak, period
He doesn’t like the media at all and he isn’t a schmoozer.
He got treated like royalty here in Boise, he won’t get that in Seattle. He lost 5 games last year and not one media person said boo about it, not one.
He won’t think twice about booting a kid who has broken the rules or the law, he just won’t tolerate having them around.
USC is better off not having him as their coach.

    • “…paint it black you devil”… good post – BTW you’re right also about his being a martinet – man everyone makes mistakes in life everyone. The trick is not to repeat making them – if Petersen is that much a ‘moralist’ he won’t last regardless of his success – kids don’t have loyalty unless it’s first shown to them.

  4. Peterson struggled to beat Hawaii, a team that might win four games in the WAC. He struggled to hold off an FCS team in a shootout. He will lose to Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA, Arizona State, Arizona, and perhaps to California and/or Washington State.

If he loses to illinois, he should be fired on the spot.

Washington will not go to bowl this year

Peterson will be fired in three years.

  5. Peterson will eventually do well at UW. He is a good coach, has a system and believes in it. Is it the only way to run a program? No. Is it a good one? Yes. All the little things definitely add up. Reminds me of Pete saying that before he came to USC, he did not have an overall plan or system.

That said, I am happy with Sark. He is a good coach. Time will tell if he is a great one. And, in the words of Mike Tyson, everyone has a plan ’till they get punched in the mouth.

  6. As a single, intelligent, attractive woman from a good upper class family I had a choice of attending any school when I graduated from Palisades. I chose UCLA for its film school. I am a sports fan, particularly football, and I was recently turned on to this blog. I read the comments of Coach Peterson and I would like someone to explain to me how he can have a confused protocol in the locker room and when traveling. Mr. Wolf seems to think the prior coach is responsible.

  7. Meh, is this a story? CP is coaching in a whole new league. We’ll see how he does. Sark turned that program around from 0-12 to Bowl Winner.

  8. all i know is all the Huskies were DANCING IN THE STEETS on the news they snagged Pereson, and on THIS BLOG, maybe 3 out of 25 comments were strongly supportive of Siete’s hire…

  9. wolfman take a knee, i GOT THIS!!!

update: O’Hadden tweeted that he sent check to Pac12 MADE OUT TO CHILDRENS HOSPITAL…..

internets are blowing calling this a galling, self-aggrandizing, egotistical move!!!

many are echoing two sentiments: 1) he HAS the money to make his own donation and 2) it tacky and self-serving and 3) offenders dont get to say where fine money goes!!

maybe Ray Rice should make his check out to his alma mater scholarship fund….he needs more good PR than O’Hadden!!
