USC Morning Buzz: Adoree Jackson Survives Stressful Game

USC freshman cornerback Adoree Jackson enjoyed a stress-free debut against Fresno State but his second game forced him to single-handedly fend off Stanford’s top offensive player, wide receiver Ty Montgomery.

Jackson and Montgomery went one-on-one on a deep pass from the end zone. There was pushing and shoving. Stanford coach David Shaw wanted pass interference but the ball fell to the ground with no penalty. The Cardinal went after Jackson deep another time with similar results.

“It still hasn’t hit me really that I’m playing college football,” Jackson said. “It was crazy. I wasn’t thinking about (pass interference). Most defensive backs do because they are nervous.

“It was a fight for the ball. It was just two athletes fighting for the ball.”

    • Ty Montgomery did no damage to us. That is “excels” in my book. Fight on Adoree, JuJu and all members of this freshman class. Give all you got and make the team the best it can be! This team is AWESOME!

    • Yes, but words such as “survives” and “stressful” are much more dramatic…..you really didn’t expect anything but a backhanded compliment from the Wolfman, did you?

    • Exactly……at least not in the regular season….Amari Cooper from Alabama is a stud, but he has no one to get him the ball….and Jaelen Strong, from Arizona State, could give him trouble with his size….plus, he faces Nelson Agholor every day in practice…

  1. Wolf – what are you going to do when will the SC Administration (or the LAPD) finally just tell you that you are not allowed to write about SC football, or stalk SC players anymore??? Will you cry??? Nobody likes you installing your “stress” and issues of “butterflies” or concerns about “appearance” with our athletes – it’s just not very manly, and quite frankly, makes me SICK

  2. Hey, Wrong Way Wolf……”Jackson and Montgomery went one-on-one on a deep pass from the end zone.”………Did you perhaps mean “….a deep pass TO the end zone.”?
