USC Morning Buzz: Trojans Deal With Being At Drama U.

JUJU.STANFORDIt’s a successful yet crazy opening to the season with drama at every corner for USC. Here’s my story on a wild couple weeks:

“If you are on campus around the team, few things penetrate their daily schedule of football activities. It was a masterful trait of (Pete) Carroll that he could glide through problems and shield his team from distractions.”

  1. Im not one to normally knock you Scott. However your articles contribute to a lot of the drama lol

  2. More troll food and, as always, very far from reality. With a big game tomorrow, Scottie barely mentions the opponent; instead let’s revisit a 2004 event. And another childish nickname from Scottie for USC.

How does he keep his job?

    • the Dummies hate the wolfman (that makes sense: the Truth hurts)….but the Mad Men LOVE the wolfman!!!

the Dummies cry and whine, but STILL FLOCK to this site and they gobble up the ads and then go out purchase from the companies they see on the site.

insiders tell me the wolfman’s blog is an UNSURPASSED value for advertisers with ROI off the freaking CHARTS!!!

      • Speaking of dummies, have you found a connection between Ted Robinson and USC. I’m still waiting, idiot.

      • It’s called adblock. I don’t see any ads on this blog and Wolfie makes no money from advertisers off of me.

      • The advertisers on this blog make no money off the Trojan fans, we don’t support them and we are telling them so in private communications. The word is spreading that Scott Wolf and this blog are toxic. All Troll posts are now being sent but multiple Trojan fans to the Office of the CEO of all advertisers with a personal message of disgust. All caps notwithstanding, you have no clue.

    • But somebody twists your arm and forces you to keep showing up on the blog to childishly whine and snivel.

      • You Trolls are the whiners and snivelers, the weakest of the weak, over here at a USC site because nobody cares about the bruins, not even Mora’s own daughter, who’s now a Trojan. Your FB team stinks again. Already an also-ran outfit, so forget your Heisman dreams, forget a simple conference championship. You’re Bridesmaid U after all. Go for it Weird Spanky. Yawn.

        • UCLA 35 – SUCC: Stinky B’s team, 14 and two snapped ankles. SUCC FB is tarred and feathered with humiliation at the crumbling mausoleum. Yeah!

          • Too bad you’re in such pain Weird Spanky. The 2014 little gutties won’t win diddly, as always. Hope’s over and it’s only game 3 for Bridesmaid U. Boo hoo. Don’t cry now.

      • Childish? She sounds pretty adult and articulate to me, but then I can read and comprehend, where you faulter in both areas.

    • How can you say that, Bleauz? All Scott said was that if USC keeps winning, the wins will be overshadowed by the drama—-and that will be BAD. And, if USC loses, the team will get caught up in the drama –and that will be BAD. And, if Sark attempts to focus the team on football, he’s shielding them from reality—and that would be BAD. How can anyone find any negativity in that?
By the way, did you find Bucket’s remarks about advertisers
“flocking to this site” a little odd? It almost sounded self promotional —as though someone more intimately connected to this blog wrote it, if you catch my drift.

      • My comment was not directly related to Scottie’s little story/history lesson, as much as his general attitude and the way he chooses to selectively present information regarding USC, as a whole….and, yes, I completely catch your drift…… and I’m UPWIND!

  3. Carroll did not “shield his teams from distractions”, as much as taught them how to mentally block them out from adversely affecting their play on the field……

  4. Who Was Elected Captain? Who Wasn’t?

Posted on August 23, 2014 by Scott Wolf

USC announced its team captains tonight: Cody Kessler, Max Tuerk, Nelson Agholor, Josh Shaw, Leonard Williams and Hayes Pullard. That’s six captains. Or to put it another way, nearly 10 percent of the healthy scholarship players are captains.

  5. “The new normal for USC is being the focal point of controversy and jokes” ~quoth the wolfman

wolfman, they say a TRUE MASTER is one who can easily explain a concept (e.g. Clown College) to the masses. Sublime.

      • Hilary/Helen channels unattributed Al Davis. I knew Al Davis, and although H/H looks like the dead Al Davis, she’s not Al Davis

    • I am writing to the Athletic Department and requesting that they revoke his press pass. He doesn’t need any special access to do what he’s been doing for so long. Oh, I like the sound of that – so long Scott.

      • don’t forget to call all those BIG ADVERTISERS!!!

“Scott Who???? he’s a Wolfman? and Bucket’s crazy?? Ok, Ma’am let me get your number in case we’re cut off…”

        #KookFile

        • Dude you and Owes have no idea about the way it works. Let me help you out. The sales rep makes an appointment with the owner of the company. The sales rep meets with the owner of the company. The sales rep says, “I’d like your business.” The owner of the company says, “Come back when your company is no longer advertising on that Scott Wolf blog.” The sales rep says, “Okay, let me see what I can do.” Now do you get how it works in the real world? Clearly not a single college credit between the two of you.

          • the sales rep is immediately fired by the newspaper for even SUGGESTING they marginalize one of the few IF NOT THE ONLY Cash Cow they have to BEGIN WITH!!

Rep then applies with a certain Candy Company where the Big Boss sees what school he’s from, lets him come in for interview for kicks, then never calls the guy back because he never hires dooshes!!

            #WayOfTheWorld

          • He’s talking about the rep from the airline that wants the law firm’s travel business not Scott’s newspaper. You have no real world experience dude.

    • Kind of the oposite of ucla where nobody pays any attention to them whatsoever. Ho Hum, Mora still there?

  6. Scottie, the players would never admit this in public, especially to you, but they LOVED the fact that their head coach and AD actually stood up and defended them in middle of the Stanford game…..and on national TV…..say what you want, trolls included, but their actions have brought this team together stronger than before……just listen to Kirk Herbstreit’s radio interview earlier this week….

    • If Scottie was “Inside USC” he would know this – but nobody at USC will talk to him so he’s forced to scour the Internet and make up stories and hope the national news will interview him to get the inside scoop. I wish USC could revoke his journalism degree (assuming his did graduate).

  7. You just don’t get it. “Players came back and upset Stanford last weekend by ignoring Sarkisian’s sideline outburst and the sight of athletic director Pat Haden running across the field to engage the officials with his coach.” They didn’t ignore anything. They said so themselves, they know Pat and Sark have their back. They love Haden, and know Sark won’t lie to them. Unlike another coaches in LA that tells the university they have a job offer they don’t to squeeze more money out of it, or enroll there children in the rival school because they know which degree carries more clot.

    • USC academic ranking #25 < UCLA academic ranking #23.

Ticked off because Mora is revolutionizing the UCLA football program, leading the charge on the new $50M football facility, and isn't going anywhere = SoCal becoming a grumpy boy and making up lies about Mora and the Texas job.

      • That’s what I’m saying dummy, try and keep up. Mora didn’t get an offer he isn’t going anywhere, he lied. I hope he does stay. He had two years with SC under sanctions to do something, like win the conference. This year he gets his last shot at a sanctioned team, and u dummy’s don’t look to good. Sark kicked your azzes last season recruiting with reduced rides. Revolutionizing? That light you see at the end of the tunnel; is the USC freight train.

        • Show us all one quote where Jim Mora claims “I was offered the Texas job” = Impossible, because he never said it.

Already making excuses for the impending loss to the superior Bruins on 11/22 = cowardly fan and excuse-maker.

          • You go online and read about it like I did dummy. I could care less, he lied.
You read that and get excuses? Idiot, your on a rivals blog defending your coach, on something that’s published on the internet, you’re that guy. I would love to see your coach if he had to play USC and not Texas tomorrow. Now then you would hear some excuses. Your team is stinking up the place. They better get better real soon. We’ll see ya.

  8. 10 years ago, there was no Twitter, TMZ, or Facebook, and journalists were largely content to report the truth, not make things up like non-existent staph infections.

  9. “An 0-2 record is almost an afterthought.” Umm … that’s not an afterthought; it’s thoughtless reporting.

  10. Mind correcting your error, Scott? You should report the facts on USC’s win-loss record, not your own wishful thinking.

  11. “Drama U” / “Clown U” as long as they continue calling USC Winner U … Names do not matter!

  12. Drama U? You wouldn’t say that if you were here and you saw the demeanor of this team. There is a quiet confidence and a belief among the entire team and the coaches that they can run the table this year. Just because they’re not talking about doesn’t mean it’s not their single goal. One team, one heartbeat. If you weren’t such a jerk I would have offered you the empty seat we had on our plane. Don’t fall asleep during the telecast.

  13. Over on WeRSC the troops are going nuts over the above post by the Wolf. Check out the site. Many of the posts on this site are bland by comparison.
