Gary Danielson Loves Lane Kiffin

“I’ve always been a big Lane Kiffin fan. I thought he was a brilliant playcaller. I really did. I thought he was really undermanned at USC and he tried to protect his team by calling plays.

“He’s got a bit of a personality. So does Nick Saban.”

That was CBS analyst Gary Danielson during the Alabama-Florida game today.

  1. What else would you expect from the SEC homers on CBS?
Maybe he learned from his firing at USC that bubble screens aren’t going to cut it in major college football, or maybe Florida is terrible like last year? Who cares, this has no relation to what is supposed to be “inside USC” information.

  2. Obviously, your demonic infatuation with the Kiffer is in full bloom Troll Feeder.

Who loves YOU Wolfie? The Trolls. Take what you can get, huh?

    • hey, Helen, did you hear what happened to Sally Snarls?

the wolfman is like the PHARAOH, a TOTAL RULER!! and if you cross him, not only does he EXILE you, but he has your name STRICKEN from every obelisk and monument!!!!

i mean, i KNEW the wolfman was a RUTHLESS VATO, but this is, like, CRAY-CRAY ruthless!!

      Helen, be careful….i mean it.

      #ShockinglyRuthless

    • We appreciate Scottie. You know Red, 710 ESPN used to have a personality Mark Willard, and I couldn’t stand the guy’s lousy, I’m so cool act, so I quit listening.

  3. When he was at USC he was a bum. Now that he is part of the SEC, everyone repsects & loves him. Typical south mentality. Saban doesn’t trust him enough to let him be in the pressbox during the games. You notice Saban is standing near him when the offense is on the field and stares at him sometimes like, what the hell are you calling…

  4. He had three shots as head coach regardless of the talent (OAK) – he couldn’t sustain an improvement.

The most foolish thing Kiffin did is what Coach Ed Orgeron DIDN’T DO – Kiffin never considered the gain by leaving the field for a year and focusing on what his decisions have garnered him – nothing less than to be a shadow of all the morons who root for bel-air tech and I do mean ‘all’.

  5. Scott, I think Lane’s suspending of your reporting privileges was bonehead in the extreme. But I also think he came in knowing the deck was stacked against him, and did a great job overall during the sanction years. He did a fine job of preparing players for the NFL. I mean, the Texans were interested in MB7 after his preseason performance. That really says a lot about the kid and his preparation for the NFL, and the coaching and opportunities he got in college in a legit pro-style offense.

I also think that we are hurt in the long run by the whole “fail up” thing that Kiffin critics have pinned on him. Is being the OC at Bama really a step up from HC at USC? Awfully hard to argue that it isn’t.

  6. pUSC has a bye and they will drop in the polls; UCLA has a bye and they will rise in the polls. Wait for it…

  7. Last I heard.. Kiffin was no longer with USC,Still I see more and more post about Lame Kiffin on a USC blog
