USC Morning Buzz: Sam Darnold Seems Suited For Offense

During the summer I mentioned that San Clemente quarterback Sam Darnold’s highlight film seemed to show more plays of him running than passing. Last night, Darnold (a USC commit) completed 20 of 27 passes for 295 yards and three touchdowns and also rushed for 63 yards and scored a TD in a 47-24 victory over Newport Harbor.

  1. KEEN analysis wolfman!!

wolfman, the ONE THING that has become OBVIOUS over my 15-20 yrs on this blog is that YOU know the trOXans better than ANYONE…better than O’Hadden, Sith Lord Garrett, ANYONE!!!

Jerry Buss used to ask Chickie Burger about personnel decisions, O’Malley did the same thing with Vinnie. WHY the HH brain trust does not ask for your advice OFF the record or ON the record is probably the most devastating error Southern Cal has ever made!!

  2. Boston College in real danger of going down to Colorado State at home… It makes Southern Cal’s defeat look real bad!

  3. “If you watched Sam Darnold’s impressive highlights that I posted yesterday, you would have a hard time believing San Clemente went 2-8 last season.”

    “Darnold is just a three-star.”

“And why not offer Waller? His stock is certainly higher.”

“But Kiffin was never going to backtrack. And this explains the offer to San Clemente’s Sam Darnold today.”

“But Kiffin was never going to backtrack. And this explains the offer to San Clemente’s Sam Darnold today. But it does not explain why Travis Waller was not offered. Especially with all the lip service about how Steve Sarkisian’s offense requires a running quarterback”
