  1. I gather the ASU defensive front looked moveable last week.

    Add Kelly’s absence.

One might expect more from the backup in his second appearance. And the weather will be more to ASU’s advantage. Still, the main obstacles for USC would be poor planning and/or overconfidence.

    Hopefully not.

    • Kessler should have plenty of time to throw. Hundley typically had 4 to 5 seconds to choose second and third receiver options.

        • Well, he’s certainly is a dual threat–and very effective on the ground, as you know from the past two crosstown rivalry games. 7 TDs in the air, 5 on the ground thus far this year.

  2. SC has the habit of making backup quarterbacks look like Joe Montana so I’m still a bit worried.

  3. That’s good news for us. That ASU / Sucla game would’ve probably been a lot more competitive if Kelly had played.

  4. UCLA’s mediocre secondary aside, Bercovici can throw the rock. He made two terrible decisions, and one cost him a 95-yard TD return by Ish Adams. However, the dude’s numbers were impressive: 488 YDS, 3 TD, 2 INT. I believe SC’s secondary will handle him better than UCLA’s did, but that QB is not a huge drop-off from Kelly.

    • I think you overestimate SUCC’s secondary and underestimate Az St. offense with Bercovici at the helm.

Bercovici won’t be doing Mannion’s imitation of a fire hydrant. .

      • I’m an alum and season ticket holder, but I am also a realist. Thus far this season UCLA’s defense passing efficiency ranking is #70 out of 125 FBS programs, whereas SC’s is #6. Don’t think SC’s secondary can be overesitmated. Should be a good game, though, now that Berco has one start under his belt.

        • You’re vastly too intelligent for Weird Spanky. He’s pure Kobe Troll, through and through – a pure bred inciter. Alienation and stupidity are his calling cards. Asking him to think is like asking the Isis guard to drop their weapons.

        • ” I’m an alum and season ticket holder.” So what. You sound like you want some sort of a button.

If I recall correctly SUCC was #1 in the country and finished 7 – 6. Didn’t Stanford come to the mausoleum a 41pt. dog and win 21 – 20.

How many passes did BC throw. How many of Fresno St. 1st game QB passes were incomplete.

Az St. should run the ball down SUCC’s throat based on SUCC cotton candy defense – BC accumulates 452 net yards rushing.

          • I already have the button. All I want now is to have a complete season, as we did in ’98, but without the gut-wrenching loss to Miami, which kept us out of the NC game.

          • Yes, I witnessed that game. The Bruin AD had a chance to delete that game after the original hurricane postponement but wanted revenue. The ‘Canes loss something like 55 – 0 the week before.

  5. Thank God. I couldn’t take an entire season of Bruins comparing the games between the two schools with neglecting to mention that the ASU QB was out when they played them. Most Bruins don’t even know that ASU isn’t a ranked team anymore or that playing them without their starting QB matters. Now if USC loses, they’ll deserve to hear it from UCLA nimrods.
