Better Than UCLA?

Arizona State just got blown out by UCLA but here’s Sun Devils coach Todd Graham today on USC: “Talent-wise, they’re the best we’ve seen on film at this point. We won’t play a better tailback combination or a better group of receivers all year.”

  1. The man speaks the truth. ……and the wolfman hates to hear the truth, just look at all the posts that get deleted

  2. I had a friend from Utah after the Oregon State game gush and exclaim how impressed he was with SC’s talent.

    So Troy may be undermanned (to change by 2016) but our boys have a fighting chance the rest of the way this year.

    • Nothing would feel better than giving the ruins a nice a** whipping. There has been so many over the last two decades, we are due for another one

      • “So many over the last two decades.” That’s a laugher. Here’s reality: In the past quarter century (that equals 25 years, in case you are confused), pUSC is 13-11-1 vs UCLA. Oh, and if you go by the NCAA record book, the series is actually deadlocked 11-11-1, as pUSC had to vacate two wins for the BushGate cheating incident. Don’t forget that the Bruins owned you 8 years in a row during those decades you are cawing about–something the trogs couldn’t even do during the Carroll Era when UCLA was terrible. A swing and a miss!

        • Yeah, that’s a little tidbit pUSC fans like to skip over. So, in pUSC logic, we:

          1. Ignore the fact that UCLA has the better program right now as evidenced by a) the Bruin’s P12S title two years ago; b) two decisive wins in a row over the trogs (including last year’s blow out); and c) higher poll ranking 20 out of the past 21 polls (dating to Oct 2012);

          2. Pretend that the 90s never happened, when UCLA dominated USC and beat them 8 years in a row;

          3. Have to dig back more than a quarter century to make the series record look good.

          I guess when your program is this mediocre, you gotta “cook the books” to help yourself sleep at night.

          • forget about the part where U$c has been around thirty years longer than UCLA…while the BRUINS lead the NCAA in Natty’s. Private school….but then so is DeVry!
            fit Un!

          • As long as you’re sticking with the facts, which I also prefer, please be sure to use ALL of the facts and in their proper context…..there was this little thing called sanctions that were recently imposed by the NCAA which significantly impacted our roster/scholarships/depth and our ability to be at full strength and be competitive….these sanctions served their intended purpose, I would say…. this is a FACT….it’s not an excuse, it’s not complaining…..it’s simply a fact….USC did the time for the crime, unlike several other schools, and now we are back on the upswing….I don’t “cook the books”…..presenting the history of this rivalry in a selective way is lame and it serves no real purpose, except maybe to make someone feel better about themselves… So be it….Fight on!

          • You forget about one team winning a Sun Bowl while the other lost it.

            UCLA owns El Paso.

          • Georgia Tech (6 -7) : 21 – SUCC (#1 pre-season team in US): 7, at the El Paso SUN BOWL. Kiffy didn’t get a blackeye, and there wasn’t a SUCC brawl. Kiffy was unforgettable in sombrero and shades. SUCC tradition lives on.

            What is innuendo?

    • The beat down those offensive freshman linemen got at BC and whatever else descends upon them this year is going to mold the strongest national front line for the next 2-3 years.

      • And don’t forget 5 star recruit Chuma Edoga OT in next year’s class. ….or former LA Rams center Doug Smiths son, Cole, who is also a highly regarded center. ….

      • assuming none of them end up flunking out of school….or JUMP out of 3rd floors of burning apartments while trying to save old ladies and babies.
        fit Un….(drinks on the house!)

      • Not if Sark can’t keep the ship from sinking.

        Even though it’s USC, if talented young players have no confidence in the coach or the direction of the program. you’re going to lose some of them.

  3. Watch Hunley delay and delay as he looks for a receiver the equal of Shaquille Evans from last year’s squad – they’re not that skilled at that position this year at ucla – it’s also the reason Hunley is getting sacked more and scrambling more.

  4. SC has superior talent, that much is true. Let’s see what they can do with it on Saturday against ASU.

    • That “superior talent” had pUSC run out of the Coliseum by the end of the third quarter last year, when your “superior athletes” gave up in a 35-14 clown-stomping at the hands of the Bruins. And the year before, when your “superior talent” started the season ranked #1, and became the first team IN 50 YEARS to end the season unranked. Silly little trog.

      #threepeatintherosebowlon11/22

        • Uh-oh, someone’s lost their temper. Sad trog, always dipping back into the distant past since your mediocre program is no longer relevant even in your own town, let alone your conference.

  5. silly pre-game fluff-speak from an opposing coach the week before the game. Only one way for pUSC to prove Graham correct: beat ASU by more than 35 points, and then beat UCLA on 11/22 (I know you’ve forgotten what that feels like, but you’ve got a fighting chance this year).

  6. Todd Graham is doing the Lou Holtz shuffle with that statement, and that’s because USC is their upcoming opponent. Lol
