No Sugar Coat For Aundrey Walker

When Steve Sarkisian talks about offensive lineman Aundrey Walker, he usually sounds blunter than with other players: “He needs to play better. I think he’ll be the first to tell you that . . . we’re going to need him to play better.”

  1. I wouldn’t get too worried Scottie, Sark said the same thing about Kessler (he can play better vs he needs to play better).

  2. wonder what’s Walkers parents’ opinion of Siete’s comments is?

    or Anthony Brown’s parents?

    or Victor Blackwell’s parents?

    or Su’a Cravens’ parents?

    or Mama’s parents?

all slammed in the press by Siete, while parents are kept under wraps in a “special area” by HH and Siete…away from the press.

  3. Scott, you need to write better. I think you’ll be the first tell us that. . . We’re going to need you write better.

    • Hi, Bleauz.

First, I acknowledge my incorrect opinion that it wasn’t necessary for Williams to play against BC.

Second, Walker is a senior, and it’s reasonable to expect more, and to speak more directly to an experienced player.

Plus, I recall a short video sequence between Walker and K. Holmes, in which Holmes offered advice, Walker wasn’t receptive, and Holmes said he was only saying it to help Walker get better.

Scott is too quick to assume that Sark is doing something he shouldn’t.

      • Hi B. Fact,

I really respect your comments, and acknowledging incorrect opinions on this blog is rarely done, so kudos to you. Managing people is not an easy thing to do, let alone coaching kids fresh out of high school…..I have been offered opportunities to get into sales management positions during my career, but I’ve turned them all down, since I know in my heart that I am a much better salesperson than a sales manager…..motivating others is not an easy thing to do as what works to motivate one person may be detrimental to the confidence of another…..Walker said that he loved his coaches, including Sark, so that’s good enough for me….Walker was quite aloof earlier in his career, but he really seems to have finally turned the corner……And I agree, Scottie tends to think the worst in people….
