  1. 21 points in the last 6 minutes, that’s on Wilcox, mostly, and Sark for failing to eat up the clock on offense and lack of preparation. Let’s hope they get it together, the season is not over.

    • When did you see a football coach who had this kind of boneheaded first season and transformed the team in later years? I honestly don’t see much room for improvement in Sark’s ability to coach and call plays. I’m afraid we’ve already seen enough of him to draw the conclusion.

      • Carroll started out 2-5 in his first season so let’s at least give Sark a chance. If he can’t turn things around quickly before the season ends then I definitely agree with your conclusion.

        • Sark has already cost USC two wins – straight up. Pretty amazing futility in only five games, considering Stanford was a gift.

I don’t remember Carroll being accused of actually being the cause of losing games when he started, but I could be wrong. Sunny Byrd was his RB.

While I truly hope Sark somehow reverses his habit of making bonehead calls, I’m confident he won’t be compared to Carroll in any way except his losses.

Also Carroll honed his craft as a defensive specialist. Sark is obsessed with offense and his defensive guy, Wilcox, seems equally inept. Just ask BC and ASU.

      • ucla is about always finishing second, so Bridesmaid U is right in their comfort zone, “trending down.”

        • Season’s not over Stlnky. And don’t forget the RB, 11/22. I think I have a fair chance of retaining OWNS another year.

  2. While I would like to place blame on Wilcox and the defense, it was Sark’s play-calling down the stretch that gave ASU an opportunity to stage a comeback. Throwing a bubble screen to Nelson on 3rd & 2 from the ASU 29-yard line while up 9 points with 7 minutes to go was an incredibly poor decision. That loss of 6 yards plus a false start penalty forced the offense off of the field. Not to mention ASU had zero timeouts. Run the ball and work the clock!

  3. If ASU does not get that hail mary completed the knowledgable posters would be all positive about SC and the coaches.

    Win-Lose illusion.

    • Sarkisian made so many bad decisions in the final seven minutes of the ASU game that many close observers were only shocked by the suddenness of the Hail Mary, not the Trojan loss.

Truth is, the better-coached team won. The more-talented team lost. Just like at BC. Nothing illusory about it.

  4. Hayes Pullard is the one at fault… Everyone who has ever played football knows that when your on defense you go for the ball at it’s highest point. You never wait for it to fall in your hands… What a joke and to boot, he is a captain of the team.

    • Team Captain, Senior, Inspirational leader Hayes was simply going after STYLE Points. Clearly, Hayes was doing his finest impersonation of the Willie Mays basket catch.
      VETT ON!

  5. Just listened to Clayton Kershaw discussing his present situation:

“Nobody cares what you have done in the past, it is what have you done for me lately.”

If I were an athlete the last people on earth I would listen to would be “my” fans.

  6. Siete is probably still “vetting” over his support of two Team Captains who GOOFED. The whole situation needs to be “vetted”. Let the vetting begin!
    VETT ON!

  7. I put all the blame on the towel waving male cheerleaders on the USuCk sidelines.. .

  8. Ultimately the blame lies with Haden. He hired a coach that is in way over his head. A coach that is learning on the job. He admits to it after every game in the press conference. “We need to learn this…We need to learn that”. Sarks limited coaching experience also gives him a small coaching tree. Which leads to a small group of coaches to choose his assistants from. Sark has hired the best he knows or could get. The question is, Why does Haden consider this a “learning” job? He let his “gut” make a hire when he clearly should have made a more educated one! Let’s hope Sark learns real fast because we are stuck with him for the next couple years. FIGHT ON!

  9. I blame all of them, because it’s the trickle down effect that starts at the top. Steve Sarkisian bragged about how he was going to put together the best college football coaching staff in america, but he struggled just to put together a staff period. Justin Wilcox is a self proclaimed “Great Defensive Coordinator” but he’s actually a Joke that has never earned his stripes at any previous coaching jobs that he’s had. And Sarkisian had mediocrity written all over the Washington program, but for whatever reason Pat Haden wanted to hire him, so basically it starts with the administration.
