One play that deserved scrutiny was when Arizona State scored on a two-point conversion against a surprised USC. Imagine if Arizona State did end up kicking a field goal on its final driveĀ and won, 35-34. Those two points would loom a lot larger today.
That was a surprise play, but it did not amount to beans in the final accounting, so forgettaboutit.
John, why would that be a surprise play when Lane Kiffin used to run a similar formation on extra points? Shouldn’t our team know how to stop a play we used to run last season?
Probably should scrutinize a weak 3 short runs to eat clock instead of going for first downs and touchdowns like champions do.
