USC ranks 10th in kickoff coverage, 10th in net punting and 12th in kickoff returns. The Trojans are better on punt returns, ranking sixth.

  1. Well, they used to have a special teams coach, but they still stink, so who cares. SCCC is awful.

  4. I’m just going to throw this out there because I am surprised Wolfie hasn’t brought it up. USC was on probation most recently for a “lack of institutional control.” SC has now been completely surpassed in that achievement by the University of North Carolina. Except, I am not sure it is “lack” of control at UNC. It seems that there were plenty of people involved and in control of a fraudulent situation for approximately 20 years!

    I think this may be the biggest scandal that I have seen in my lifetime and I was just wondering what the NCAA might do in this situation, which covered several sports over that span of time. It makes the Reggie Bush/Todd McNair/OJ Mayo/Tim Floyd saga look like child’s play.

    It is amazing how this story has not been front page news on ESPN when compared to other scandals. Anyone want to hazard a guess on what they penalties may be? What do you think they should be?

    • The sanctions against SC will never be repeated against any other school. They were the product of bias against the Trojans who had gone too Hollywood in the minds of the NCAA, and wanted to put SC in its place. They did a good job

      The true and bitter trolls will unsuccessfully try to make it seem like USC’s transgressions were far worse and that the punishment was just.

      this has NOTHING to do with violation of the Amateurism rules, is sounds like simply some over zealous teachers giving out grades…happens all the time in every school.

      i don’t see ANY allegations of payola or other REAL violations, just some education needed for administrators and professors. the issuance of grades are PURELY SUBJECTIVE and therefore, not a viable subject for mush scrutiny, if any.

      if this were a REAL story the wolfman would have commented on it.

    • I also think that if UNC was relevant in Football this story would be jumping off of the sport pages. But not too many Schools will ever get the hammer put down on them like the Trojans had done to them, and the Ohio State/Jim Tressel scandal is a perfect example.

  6. Wolf here is a prime idea. We are obviously not going to learn our lesson. Maybe you need to comprise several articles on ethics. Maybe an ethical Trogan handbook that all these so called fans will be required to study. We can have a Ethical Trogan 101 mandatory class for all students.
