USC defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox talks about putting pressure on Utah’s quarterbacks but said he has not seen enough of the Utes’ defense to explain why they lead the nation in sacks.

  1. Justin may not know much about the UTAH defense but he sure as heck knows a lot about those YUMMY Hot Box Burritos!, and..
where the hell has Hayes (“I wasn’t supposed to be there”) Pullard been?
    fit Un!

        • “PETRIFIED”

I thought that’s what you call your old leather helmet from 1953, or is it the banana hammock collection…help me out

      • Out of deference to the Wolfster (who I kind of enjoy — even when he’s playing the bad boy), I didn’t want to say that but, yes, I was thinking the exact same thing.

        • “Bad boy”?…… he’s more like a lovable loser who always gets picked last when it comes time to choosing sides in a game of pick up basketball…….

          • Clever and entertaining comment, as usual, my friend. But don’t you think an impressive fraction of Scott’s remarks are made, not seriously, but with a “this oughta draw a bunch of posts” intent? And don’t you think he’s smiling to himself when the number of comments to one of his off the cuff, throw away criticisms of Sark or his staff tops, say, fifty?

          • By the open ended, and poorly researched, nature of his posts on this blog, I would say that you are 100% correct…..Scottie feeds the trolls like ducks in a lake…….the feeding frenzy that he creates with his absurd comments is predictable, and, at times, laughable….

          • I don’t really think there’s much of anything impressive about Wolfie, an incessant rabblerouser who does little to no homework and basically asks questions of his USC readership. He’s got elite football program participation that can’t exist at other blogs because of ridiculous, inane Troll battling that isn’t allowed to exist elsewhere.

You give Wolfie, who actually knows very little about football, way too much credit. If you want to give him credit, then I’ll admit he’s the copy and paste champion of all time and he does a good job of pretending he’s breaking info that is already all over the web.

          • I think you just out debated me, J.B. (I hope Wolfie was telling the truth when he said he doesn’t read the comments).

          • Wolfie’s a very devious person, which I think is obvious to all, especially the USC coaches, who should be required to take a Wolfie course before they accept any Trojan position. The guy can do serious damage to the uninitiated.

To suggest Wolfie doesn’t read these comments is about as honest as presuming Wolfie ever put a football uniform on or listened to a snap count on the field.

          • Wolfie is about as manipulative and calculated a journalist as there is in college football….your comment about USC coaches being required to take a Wolfie course made me chuckle and it should also apply to incoming freshmen on the team….his seemingly innocuous questions can be very leading and damaging, especially when taken out of context…. which NEVER happens on this blog… HA!

  2. Hope he gets a handle on it because he is down to 2-days before liftoff.

And of course the Utes’ sack average was heavily influenced by that ’10-spot’ they applied to SUCLA’s Hundley. How sweet it is.

    • Yes, the Utes definitely had unadulterated sacks with UCLA’s Hundley on that glorious Saturday evening in Pasadena……

    • Wolf is asking the wrong coordinator the wrong questions
Its not a Defensive coordinators job to study tape of the opposing teams defense.. Its his job to watch tape of the opposing teams offense

  3. I just hope our fancy boys can continue with another Las Vegas Bowl this year. We want to continue the USC legacy.

      • Not scare of a Trogan domination. I ma stating the obvious that is will never happen because of all the negativity in the program.

        • What about the positive things? For instance, a competitive team with just about half the number of scholorship players as the competition? A QB that just broke a school record? Rated best college football program of ALL TIME? Anyway, cheer up – you cannot stop SC from being SC

    • Actually, USC owns the Rose Bowl (24-9). The little gutties rent the Rose Bowl (5-7), aren’t allowed on the field in January nowadays and Bridesmaid U hasn’t won it in 30 years.

Oh, congrats on your big year this season. You losers never fail to disappoint.

      • You sure do like to bring up UCLA here. This is not about them it is about us. We are the laughing stock of the nation. We are clown college U.

        • One of the best things about this blog is picking on you loser little gutties, especially weirdos like yourself who pretend they are Trojans.

I would suggest you get immed professional help, but it’s a lot of fun kicking dirt in your face, so stay away from the doctor and just pray the little gutties can some day win an actual conference championship – you know, baby steps.

          • Easy does it there. You so called fans are the reason we are the laughing stock of the nation. You have no idea what is means to be a Trogan. It is pretty obvious by your clueless comments. I wish there was a Trogan ethical handbook for all of us to study. I guess I will have to develop one and make it a mandatory class at SC.

  4. Justin Wilcox can’t explain why Utah’s defense leads the nation in sacks ?….Really ? Isn’t his salary upwards towards a million dollars a year ? Is Wilcox really Dumb as he sounds and looks ? Why does USC always get stuck with self proclaimed “Great Coordinators” ? or washed up has been’s ?

    • Its not a Defensive coordinators job to study tape of the opposing teams defense.. Its his job to watch tape of the opposing teams offense.

  5. I’m no apologist for the SC coaching staff, but Wilcox is SC’s defensive coordinator, not their offensive coordinator. His job is to study film on Utah’s offense (not their defense) and prepare SC’s defense to face it. I’m guessing it’s normal that he isn’t studying lots of film on their defense. All he said is he’d need to see more film on their D before offering an explanation. People are making too much of this, and it’s just Wolf pulling a Wolf. He also just posted a video with Reid and he dedicated 60% of it to these little “dramatic” things that have happened around SC football. The guy is just trying to be the TMZ of college football, not a real beat reporter.

        • Chappy, this myth was debunked YEARS ago. as i have stated many times, i WISH i was the wolfman, much like some men WISH they were Clayton Kershaw, Jack Nicholson, Tiger Woods, or ANY MAN who is at the pinnacle of their profession!!

that aside, are you a Bigfoot believer? if so, are you in the Gigantopithecus camp, or do you caucus with the Wild Man/Heidelbergensis crowd? there of course are also the Bigfoot/Alien believers but the Cadre does not take them seriously. Don’t even get me started on the flying, BatSquatch sightings in WA….

          #CryptoCadre

  6. hey Wolf, in your interview did you ask him how he is getting along with Lendale White these days?

  7. Vegas now has this game as a pick em’… with more than 60% of bettors putting their money on the Utes.

    #Kesslersacked5times

  8. It would be nice if the defense could play solid for the whole game. I don’t have that much faith it will happen with Wilcox.

  9. Hint to Justin Wilcox; “Watch the Utah film, you might learn something?”

Probably the most important thing for a Defensive Coordinator, including the Defense as a whole is to put “pressure” on the opposing teams Quarterback !

Sometimes the pressure forces the opposing Quarterback to make mistakes that sometimes become “Turnovers” that have a “helping” effect in the “process” of Winning the Game !!

    Maybe a “Sack” ??

    I think that I saw that once…
