How about a little love for Carson, who inked a 3yr, $50 Mil contract. Fight On Carson!
Just before his ACL gave out……….talk about timing…..
Bill Plaschke’s column in today’s Times was about the possible and potential return of Ed Orgeron as an assistant
You can feel the love O has for SC. They gotta find a way to get him back.
An awful lot will emerge within the next three weeks but yes I do believe Coach O will return and hopefully a great deal of gratitude, remorse and reflection from all involved.
Sark and O aren’t fans of each other, so O’s not coming back, period.
It’s a damn shame O lost his cool, embarrassed himself and ran back home. He’s just not a head coach and no program any good will ever hire him for anything other than an asst position. A classic Goux-type guy. Goux was smarter in that he knew and was satisfied that was his calling, the right hand man.
Jack that’s not what the article alludes to – it seems there is real interest – time shall tell – be nice to also get Kennedy Pola back as well.
I will say your mention of Goux is what Kiffin (hopefully) has come to realize – know your limits!
Wow. The article actually said SC wants to bring back O, even though he totally marginalized himself and Sark would have to fire hand-picked staff?
I had no idea. Well, congrats to all then. I’m all for it as long as O’s just the d-line coach. Hope he doesn’t come back as the DC. That’s not where O’s talent lies.
Pola punched out Lane Kiffin. I’m not sure he’ll get the return invite, though I’d be fine with it.
I’d say Coach O has eaten a large piece of ‘maturity’ and I also believe he relfected hard on how he reacted when he was first told he would not be continuing on as HC (as you noted – his crazed emotionally and physical outbreak of behavior).
It shows true character in one when one reflects on where one finds oneself and why – Coach O seems to really have had a very sincere inward reflection and based on the closing – his true love for USC.
That is why Kiffin will always be a risk should he again assume he can be a ‘HC’ – he refused to truly sit back and ask himself how it is he just lost or abandoned his 3rd HC position.
Love to see Ed back as well as Kennedy Pola
Does O still expect the 1.5 mil per year that Haden originally offered?
I’m more worried about how we end this season than whether O ever comes back, so in that sense, I guess I’m more worried about Sark than O.
Agreed – win the next three and then discuss the gain for all involved.
bel-air tech is going to be tough if our defensive backfield allows Hunley the leisure of throwing as much as he did against WA.
Petersen’s throwing the DE off the WA squad two days before the game on Saturday had some scribes wondering if it was more a way to deflect his inability to play hard against ucla or the player was truly that big a problem (Josh Shaw size) either way need to hone the skill this week for Cal but conceal enough to have Kessler unleash the hounds on the 22nd
Jambalaya leftovers? Who knew? Sometimes leftovers are better after the juices have had some time to stew. Maybe Sark can have O step in for him when he loses his cool with the refs.
Nah that would be a better fit for Mora when he loses his with his own staff
Actually, the Plaschke article never said that SC wants to bring back O, unless you’re talking about another article.
The whole incident with Pola punching Kiffin was a shocker, but a well-deserved butt-beating on Kiff for being a little punk. I have a ton of respect for Pola and he never would have done that if Kiffin hadn’t disrespected him like he did in a big way.
I always envisioned Coach O coming back just in time for the rivals, or at least in time for our main rival, and the only one that is historically relevant, Notre Dame.
Give him the Team Father or CEO title, keep Sark as Head Coach, and move forward.
Very true – Godfather Part II – 1958 – Miami-FL. Hyman Roth and Michael Corelone – Roth turning up the volume on the football game – Notre Dame vs. USC with Tom Kelly announcing.
The greatest, most revered, most watched, college intersectional game in the USA.
Bow chit.
Orgeron has realized no one is standing in line to hire him as a head coach. The whole situation is sad, but nobody is to blame except Orgeron.
Oh how we have hit rock bottom. We might as well set up shop in the backwash swill. Our team sucks.
Nah, rock bottom would be losing 50-0 and having to petition for a bowl game with a losing record.
No, rock bottom is losing perennially — and by wide margins — to the team that lost 50-0.
The team that “won” the Pac-12 South……
I suppose there is still time to lose 50-0. I figured we would just end the year with some terrible beat downs to inferior teams. You are right, maybe we can get Haden petition us for a Bowl game.
the World Champeen article on the ‘Agin Cajun is the second (ESPN also) i’ve read about him in the past week…..he is putting it OUT THERE: he wants to return!!!
in a world of big fat phonies, the ‘Agin Cajun is a genuine guy…..unpolished, but genuine!!
thank goodness we can count on the fact O’Hadden will not bring him back while he’s in charge!! he can’t hire him as a Asst, cause every time Siete stumbled there would be chants for Coach O from the stands!! and he will not bring him back as Head Coach either, lest he have to socialize with such a brute, washing his hands in the punch bowl at fancy parties!!!
one thing Plascke got right is the fact the Cajun brings the emotion to this team. you would NOT have dorks jumping up and down like American Bandstand spinning towels and giggling under orders from Siete!!!

BTW, wolfman, you KNOW i love you like a blood brother…..but Southern Cal is NOT ranked!!
if they’re not in the top 25, you don’t refer to them as a RANKED team!!!
Colorado State doesn’t go around saying “we’re RANKED!!!! (189th)”
so a more appropriate headline would read “trOXans remain UNRANKED….finish 29th in latest poll”

I believe SC will win out, end up 10-3 and be ranked #10 in the final poll, the only one that matters or anyone will ever remember.
Me too
No you said 2 losses going into the ND game.. .
Haha thank you for the recognition.
Just another silly rah rah prediction, falls in-line with all the other crap.. .

I agree with you john…SC has made some huge mistakes …but has learned and win out.Hope USC brings back Coach O before the Cal game.Fight On!
Let’s do this more often i.e. take a topic that no one cares about and transform it into that which generates replies – the return of Coach O!
SoSo Cal ranked at SoSo # 29. Seems about right to me, but with 3 games left (3-0 or 2-1) SoSo cal is about to become COMPLETELY Irrelevant again. Look on the bright side….your basketball team did win against Cal State L.A.!!!!
clowns at a CLOWN School!
Wow! Too bad the NCAA doesn’t have a 30 team playoff race..lol
