USC opens its basketball season tonight at the Galen Center against Portland State. Trojans coach Andy Enfield, no longer basking in the glow of a Sweet 16 appearance with Florida Gulf Coast, promises Year 2 will not be a repeat of last season’s 11-21 campaign.

Will Enfield start three freshmen like he did in last week’s exhibition against Cal State Los Angeles?

          • Coastal Carolina got to the round of 32 last year. I think they lost a close one to Virginia. They are a good team and return 4 of 5 starters. They are not a cupcake at all.
