Can USC Finish?

This is likely to be a common topic through the week, but can USC play four strong quarters against UCLA? That seems to be a key to the Trojans’ hopes.

“(That is) something we haven’t been able to do that well this year,” defensive end Leonard Williams said.

Perhaps the real issue is whether finishing is a byproduct of the play on the field or the game plan?

  1. “Losing is Fun”

“we cant try to make plays”

and now: “we don’t finish this year”

NOT SOUNDING like the the self-described DYNASTY from Figueroa St., is it??? to put it plainly, the trOXans sound scared.

look for more sanctions/wait till next year/blame the refs talk all week.

  2. I thought the shirts on the sideline with Sark were hillarious with their “Finis(c)h”. Apparently whoever authorized those to be made hasn’t been watching USC football this year. If I were in charge of that, and I could only dream to have a job that great, I would have added “ed” to the end of it. Because that’s what USC is after losing to Utah and ASU, two teams that were beat and SC let come back and win, and those 2 games were OVER and won.

      • Utah was beat. All Algoholor had to do was not step out of bounds and it was in the refrigerator. Should have kicked the the field goal like it says in the “Coaching for Dummies” book, and it was over. The team won. The coach lost that one.

    • so, why not ask yourself, what would Sandy have to do and who would Underpants have to become to obtain a dream job? hint: you might want to lose the infantile “ed” approach and write something well-researched, well-thought out and compelling on the blog of your team of choice.

  3. Scott, how did you miss this article?

“All FBS college football coaches were asked, which school has the best resources (infrastructure, budget, fan support, etc.) to win a national title?”

Results: USC did not get even 1% of the votes. Among the eight schools that got at least 1% of the votes, Oregon got 8%, Notre Dame got got 3%.

Not even 1%. That would seem to mean that USC got at most one or two votes.

Oh, and trolls, UCLA didn’t make the list either.

    Everybody, what are your thoughts?

  4. the question, is it the athletes on the field or the game plan is the point of contention; the game plan does not really matter if one does not have competitive athletes; and the best athletes can’t compete if the game plan does not use the best athletes on the field in their best positions going after the other teams weakest area;that is why on any given day one must have a primary plan and of course alternate ones, due to the fact all athletes have good, better, and best days;SC does best when the defense is aggressive, and not laying back in prevent, and there is not even a question about it;that does not mean every play is an all out blitz;just like on offense, the pass is the primary ’cause this line is too young to move the ball on the ground as the primary ,the facts prove it; so what is the answer to the question…both, the athlete in the proper position must make the play…ASU won,but the athletes were in position to make the play and did not at the very end.

  5. Has anybody seen a PAC 12 game this year? Even Oregon the cream of the crop has had only a couple of games they won by big margins. UCLA held on like a little girl to beat Colorado and Cal and lost to Utah at the final bell. How come Mora cant finish? The Pac 12 has the best QB’s in the nation and no lead is safe.

    • Yes, but Mora can’t seem to stop squeezing those lovable cheeks of Ulbrich…..he’s just so darn adorable whenever his defense gets exposed……

  6. If USC wins they get 9 sacks. UCLA will probably win because they are ranked in the top 10. That’s what I read on a Bruin blog that shall remain nameless.
