  1. Is this why you avg less than a catch a game, Randy….because you’re always waiting for the UCLA game?

  2. Sounds like the UCLA game is bigger for him than the Notre Dame game. And I have always heard that ND was SC’s big rival.

    • Prediction for this blog on November 25, there will be a post entitled USC-Notre Dame Quote of the Day and it will read–

“I’ve been waiting all year for this game”
–USC tight end Randall Telfer after losing past two seasons to Notre Dame.

Shamshiri, Shahzerad, Sangak, Shekarchi, California Kabab Kitchen!!!! So it shall be done! (those were magic words from a faraway place).

      • Could be true Sandy…and Bruins big rival will be Stanford! (Actually that joke of a band._

        • The Big rival is usually the team you always lose to, and UCLA hasn’t beaten Stanford this decade, so you may be correct in the short term. But nobody in Westwood is going to be happier with a win over Stanford after losing to USC.

          • My tongue was firmly in my cheek, Sandy. And, most Bruins don’t believe that ND is your biggest rival, especially this year with the league implications.

          • When you coach at USC, need to beat your archrivals. John McKay (above left) used to say, “There is nothing worse than losing to UCLA and nothing better than beating Notre Dame.”

It has ALWAYS been more important to beat Notre Dame. There is tremendous respect from both schools regarding their football rivalry. For football, it is clearly Notre Dame.
For all other sports our main rival is the cross-town guys…however I doubt that the feeling is reciprocated when it comes to basketball. UCLA clearly has the tradition. Not sure just who would be the Bruins main rival in hoops. Do you have one?

  3. I won’t say I have been waiting all year for this game, but after ASU lost and gave SC a fighting chance to win the Pac-12, I bought scalper tickets (2) in Tunnel 19 Row 56, and my nephew and I will probably be the only Trojans among thousands of brewins

This game has something riding on it, unlike the last year’s game, so I cannot miss it.

  4. P.S. Truth be told, SUCLA is more important that ND because at least in the past, it usually meant a ticket to the Rose Bowl (the real Rose Bowl, the January 1st game)

And is there anything worse than thousands of brewins crowing in the wind?

  5. I am going to the game so that means I have to wear my kevlar chest protector, my riot helmet, and pancho. The reason is, the ruins will try and stab me with a knife, they will throw stuff and will try and pour urine on the trojan fans. Just a typical day dealing with the classless ruin fan. I just LMAO off when I hear ruins and class in the same sentence. they don’t know how to spell the word, let alone know what it means. And no, John they call me “Cheatin'” Wooden didn’t have any class either. He spoke of it, but did not live it. you can tell by the way he cheated and bought his players.

    • They will bad-mouth you but won’t do the stuff that they do at Oregon. No need to overreact…and BTW , Wooden was a class act and didn’t cheat any more than PC did. Neither one bought anyone. BS does not feed the bulldog.

    • You poor devil, sounds like how they treated suits in the old Olympic Auditorium…even the great Jim Healy had to duck and cover from flying bottles of pi$$!!!

(I don’t normally do this, but if you get cornered by some rabid Bruins, just yell “I’m a friend of Charlie Bucket!!” and the crowd will part)
