USC-UCLA Thought For Day

Can anyone say anything matters more in Saturday’s game than coaching and the performance of UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley?

  1. With Sark and Josh Shaw reenacting the parable of the prodigal son, USC is set for an early Christmas miracle.

    • interesting analogy: as you recall the return of the prodigal son ended up pi$$ing off the siblings, resentful that the prodigal son, so reckless and so irresponsible, should be celebrated upon his return, and then be the center of attention while the others, having done everything responsibly, sit in the background.

add 90,000 all hooting and mocking Shaw and this creates resentment and distraction for the Un-prodigal teammates.

      • And yet, in the Gospel According to Wolf it is written: “And Sark said to the other members of the secondary, ‘Fellas, your brother Josh will soon be journeying to the Combine, but now it is fitting to celebrate and be glad, for your brother was suspended, and is reinstated; he was lost, and is found.'”

Thus, the Coach explains to the other players that their brother Josh will only play in maybe a couple two or tree games, so they should relax.

      • 30,000 of the 90,000 will be Trojan fans. And the 60,000 or so brewin fans don’t care that much, which leaves only you Ugly to throw your insults at your Josh in the safety of your living room.

        • You forgot to subtract the 7,000 tickets USuCk has returned to UCLA.. .

          Eeeestupid “Clown College” – ESPN

          • And you forgot the UGLY students who have to travel further from their campus to the Rose Bowl. Too bad they can’t play on the 80 yard field.

          • LOL! Good thing I have a sense of humor. BHAAAA!! I’ve been legal since my great-great-grandparents came here after the Mexican revolution. I’ve only been to Mexico twice and barely speak Spanish. I wouldn’t know my way around Mexico if my life depended on it. The problem is guys named Wilson, Wilmer or Vladimir from Central America. That’s the issue – BHAAAAAAA!!!

      • Are UGLY prodigal son’s Freddie Mitchell and Darrl Henley attending? Forgot that they are a little tied up.

    • The early Christmas miracle will be playing a bowl game on Christmas Eve, which seven win teams do!

    • WEB chuckles knows nothing about scripture – there was only one brother – the rest of the listing of anger is what chuckles and his goofs do here 24/7 – this incident will be with Shaw the rest of his life just as the prodigal son’s foolish behavior is with him but for both it is having the compassion and concern that only a loving father can show

      • Like the compassion Otis you show for John Wooden’s dead body and legacy.

You Otis remind me of George C. Scott’s Preacher in the film “The Hanging Tree.” Nothing’s uglier than Scott’s itinerant, alcoholic Preacher.

        • And you UGLY owns foozball reminds me of the Drunk on Blazing Saddles. “oh no, you lilly livered liver liver!!!”

  2. Only thre things are certain, Huntley will pass for 300, run for over 100, and UCLA will win in a rout.

    • A rout? Is that like last year, winning by 21? Don’t see it that lopsided. Shaw could be enough of a difference to make it very close at the end.

    • I predict under 245 passing, under 55 running, 7 sacks and three turnovers by Mr. H (and I don’t mean the Heisman).

  3. If USC’s o-line can open enough holes for Allen and Davis to run for 150 yds, USC will win. We won’t stop Hundley and ucla won’t stop USC’s passing attack.

  4. As long as Mora is at UCLA and Sarkisian is at USC, UCLA will have coaching advantage. Just look at the half time adjustment. UCLA always makes the proper adjustment, while USC fades in the second half.

      • How is that a stat to celebrate? 5-10 when trailing at half. And all 10 losses uncontested blow outs.

          • How? If he had a good record coming from behind at the half, then halftime adjustments would be in has favor. He doesn’t, he’s 5-10 trailing at the half. If you’re ahead 31-9 at the half, you probably could be totally terrible at halftime adjustments and still win. USC trailed vs. Stanford and won. UCLA trailed vs. Utah and Oregon and sucked it. So Mora isn’t very good at halftime adjustments.

  5. You forgot how many UCLA will have their knees and lower legs taken out by fucking cheap-ass cut-blocks….

    • Please, Kesslers 20 TD passes and 1500 yards came against WSU, Cal, Colorado, and Fresno…Only 9 and 1300 yards in the other 6 games…Kessler numbers are all FLUFF. FACT!

  6. If coaching is an issue….USC loses.

unless the USC players can build a four touchdown lead (as they did against CAL) coaches will blow the game

    • You’re preaching to the choir big guy.
Ever consider upgrading your handle to pactwelveman? If not, I understand. Some of us have yet to adjust to the addition of the Utes and the Buffs. Actually, a case could be made for reverting to the Pac-8. But then, I’m a guy who still am unable to adjust to the DH.

  7. I would say the offensive line is going to be very important for USC. If Kessler gets time to throw then the run will open up.

    • Good luck with that! Let’s just hope that it is not like BC…20 yds running, 317 passing, or like Utah…100 yards rushing, 264 passing, or like Wazzo…127 yards rushing, 400 yards passing, or like ucla’s older brother…79 yards rushing, 371 yards passing.
The OL has been doing a credible job protecting Kess, but are having more than a little trouble opening holes for the run. Sounds like we need a big guy like Vainuku, a stud who only had the ball 6 times, yet, is our top ground gainer at 6.7 YPC. He makes his own holes. But most important, if the running game isn’t doing Jack, do not continue to beat a dead Traveler.

  8. Finally Scotty you put some thought into this lead… Yes it does matter if Sark will show he can manage the damn game all 4 quarters and not go wimpy in calling plays in the 4th quarter with too small of a lead. And yes again, letting Hundley sit back in the pocket unruffled or allowed to scramble for 1st downs will hurt our chances to win.

  9. Neither team is undefeated,so that ,means other teams found ways to win; I know SC lost 2 in the last seconds, where it was a combination of an athlete just standing there watching and doing nothing, the other was coaching going prevent which never works;ucla lost ’cause they stopped Hundley;what are the chances SC noticed and might see how…maybe making him beat them passing, and pressure him to keep him moving to force throws on the run,if SC defense can’t pressure him and sack him straight on;will there be adjustments??? At least it will potentially be interesting.

  10. I haven’t read any comments yet, so if this is redundant, that is why. But yes, the Bruin O-line is more important, and USC’s D is more important. If USC blitzes Huntley regularly Saturday, then the Bruins won’t stand a chance. It’s simple as that.
