The Gooold Sheet

The venerable betting publication, the Gold Sheet, picks UCLA to defeat USC, 33-26, on Saturday. Excerpt: “Jim Mora, Jr. has had the magic touch againstĀ USC, winning and covering the first two meetings of his tenure.”

  1. Maybe they haven’t noticed that SC essentially has two lockdown corners in AdoreeJ and now JShaw who will force Hundley to run for his life, or get picked – that’s if he survives the whole game.

  2. Yeah, magic is what decides these games. Game on boys. This should be one hell of a battle.

    • SonOfWestwood You are correct !

This will be a Battle of Wills and it will be extremely physical !

Trojans final chance to beat Hundley !!

Edge goes to the Trojans because I can’t remember USC losing 3 straight to any Quarterback…

    • Okay, I just need to whine for a second: One of my closest friends has chosen this Saturday TO GET MARRIED AT 6:00–at a winery in Temecula. I’ve been married 25 years, but still thought I had a shot at getting a hall pass…but when I ran the “I think I’ll go the game at the Rose Bowl instead” idea past my wife, I got “the look.” If he wasn’t one of my best friends, I’d politely decline. But that’s impossible. So, will be avoiding all human contact, placing the cell phone on Airplane Mode, and watching at midnight upon returning home.

        • A close one, but UCLA’s depth and Hundley’s legs prove the difference down the stretch, 28-24.

      • I feel your pain EB, I’ve done the DVR thing a few times when my better half has got Shakespeare tickets at the Globe. Winery probably won’t have a TV to sneak off to either.

        • Yeah, no TV. In a way, that’s a relief, cuz I can avoid the score and watch the entire game when I get home. And going to the Globe is good because no one in that crowd would be talking football, either.

  3. Just read a nice piece by Gemmell on ES*PN. Check it out if you can. Quote from CK about Hundley on who is the top QB in LA: “I think a big part of deciding that stuff will be in this game,” Kessler said. “Brett has played really well this year. He’s one of my good friends and he’s done a great job. I’m happy for him. This game will probably help define that. Not just the all-conference stuff. But some of the other awards and the Battle of LA thing. This game has a lot of emphasis on the quarterbacks and it’s going to be a fun competition.”

It’s refreshing to see two class-act QBs who aren’t followed around by a pack of lawyers or who don’t have pending court dates.
