Buck Allen Unsure Of Future

Tailback Buck Allen said after practice he “doesn’t even know at this point” if he will turn pro or return to USC next season.

Meanwhile, tight end Bryce Dixon did not practice because a possible concussion against UCLA. WR Nelson Agholor said his dropped punt was from going away from fundamentals and he should have fair-catched it.

  1. Agholar, USC’s leading punt return for TD man of all time, suddenly lacks the fundamentals to handle a simple bruin punt late in the season. He hasn’t been taught when to fair catch.

Can’t blame Sark for that. My Pop Warner coaches gave me keen insight into the fair catching of punts if necessary.

Allen will go in rounds 3-5 at best. Good luck to him. He’s been a tough guy-workhorse for USC and always gave it all he had, which includes no breakaway speed.

  2. Perkins looked better than Buck, I hate to say.

And if the ball is at the 10 or inside, which this punt was, then the percentage play is to step aside and don’t touch it. Who knows, without that play perhaps SUCLA does not win.

    But that’s life.

    • Fair catch it or let it go. Either way, wouldn’t have mattered. I watched ucla toss around USC’s O like it was a rag doll.

SC’s just lucky it wasn’t 58-20. It certainly could have been. At least that’s the way our viewing party saw things, though many of us only paid lip service to the TVs after Hundley bolted up the middle for a TD with no Trojan ever within five yds of him.

  3. a better nickname wouldda helped his career.

if only Sally were still around to give us another tutorial on marketing and sales….oh, right, she got thrown off the blog again like a bag of old gar-bagĂ©…(tee-hee)

    • Tee-Hee? I thought you were more creative than that.
You are just ticked because she stomped your burro at bunko.

Prepare to be taken down on our bet re:Siete vs Ocho. As I don’t want to take unfair advantage of you, only the regular season counts. Bowl game is off the table.
      Fair is fair.
I propose an addendum to our wager. Besides the CC Cero, how ’bout the loser for all of next year having to refer to Sark in a special way? You have to call him
“OCHO” if you lose and I would have to refer to him as
      “SIETE” if ND prevails.
If not, the whole board (including the Wolf man) will forever refer to you as Gallina.

Ball in your court…Sorry about the reference to hoops, especially in light of Oklahoma’s victory in the Bahamas.

  4. Too many running backs blowing their knees out at this level, so I hope Buck Allen’s camp advises him to go.
