There’s a lot of buzz about how many underclassmen could go pro after the season. Names most mentioned are Javorius Allen, Leonard Williams, Antwaun Woods, Nelson Agholor and George Farmer.

Not shocking or surprising.
In football these kids are one tackle away from having their NFL-shot disintegrate.
Besides, to play such a violent sport, it is better to be paid.
More power to them if they can make it in the NFL. Truth be told, pro ball is just a flimsy, childhood pipe dream for some of these guys. Hope they manage to get their degrees and have a serious back-up plan. I don’t see that much NFL talent on this USC team.
Jordan Cameron, Matt Cassel, that CB who started in Tampa a few years back and probably some more that I’m leaving out, have shown that SC can be an NFL farm system. These guys are talented but have for some reason have not panned out, been hurt, or just couldn’t crack the starting line-up. The Florida 3 should leave, they’re good enough, while Farmer and Woods have enough raw talent. I think it is just a question of maturity and mind- set.
I think you’re leaving out all the names of those who couldn’t handle the NFL. It goes both ways. How many Trojans went undrafted last year? It used to be that SC majored in high draft picks. The sanctions took us down, but we’ll be back. I think only Williams ends up a high draft guy. Agholor has a shot but there’s several better, more consistent WRs IMO. I doubt either Allen or Woods are good as pros. Great Trojans I think, just not that talented compared to what I see succeeding in the NFL. The NFL is a difficult place to culture your maturity. Most successful guys seem to go in there mature already. I would never draft Farmer, for instance. He’s hurt 365 days a year until recently. Even healthy, he doesn’t look like an NFL guy to me, except getting off the bus.
Good points, Mr. Jack. I think it depends on the individual. For instance, Dion Bailey was a tweener, had concussion issues and didn’t have elite speed. Some players do well in certain systems or situations and actually benefit when they aren’t drafted- they get to choose their team to some degree. Others change positions and do well. All these have attributes that could translate well in la liga: Allen has good hands, speed and size; Woods is a tree stump and has decent quickness; Farmer has ludicrous speed. They all play special teams. I don’t know, play for a year or two, make a million bucks and move on. I hope they have backup plans though.
That’s the thing here. Too many years of living through bad coaching – no end in sight -get out before you get any softer
Geo. Farmer leaving? To go where?
What buzz? None of my Trojan friends are taking about who’s going. Whoever leaves early will undoubtedly be hugely disappointed with what happens, except Williams. If Farmer went it would be like a ghost leaving. Did he even catch 10 balls in his career?
#TroganFamily
Sometimes, you have to tell family members the truth. Some of these guys could use an intervention.
Really, Williams is the only true stud in that group. They all should stay and get stronger/faster.
Will be interesting to see if any like Sark enough to hunker down for another gamble at only winning 7. If a bunch of borderliners bolt, it’s a sign of a lack of confidence, don’t you think?
Farmer…2011 4 catches
2012 1 catch in the 1st game…injured in all the rest.
2013 Injury
2014 20 catches…235 YPC 11.75 avg.
If he can’t be assured of more balls thrown to him next season…then he should bail to another university. I like Farmer a hell of a lot more than the current coaching staff. He deserves better.
He’d be a better safety maybe. Better than McQuay.
Leon Mcquey was 5 star recruit out of Florida! He is a “cant miss!”
Maybe there is a reason he left FA. Hmmmmm?!
Rumors are that Farmer and Max Browne are thinking of transferring together
True. But can Farmer really expect lots of touches in 2015, so as to improve his prospects?
Same for Agholor and Allen, although for different reasons. Sark can’t pull off a dynamic, unpredictable offense, and that’s what creates heat around a skill player.
Haden has made every beginner’s mistake, and his timing could not be worse, between the sanctions, the Coliseum rehab, equal TV revenue for all, and a competent coach across town. In terms of football, USC has to be rated a “short.”
I’m sure the fine young men of Troy were simply looking past UCLA to their true “big” game against ND.
You should be able to catch that game on ESPN 7 or I heart radio.
Good news, though New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day will be wide open for the next 7 or 8 years for non-football social events for you Trojans.
No need to block out those dates on your calendars.
I bet many of you are hoping Leon McQuey III is leaving…
Everyone who can leave will do so…. Just like last year. The players know sark is a loser and one more year with this staff will just make them all worse players.
Probably an overstatement, but reflective of the general reality of the situation. 🙂
Many, if not all, of our Juniors may stick around for their Senior Year if Coach Sark announces soon after the ND game that Coaches Pendergast, Orgeron, and Helton will take over as Defensive Coodinator, Defensive Line Coach, and Offensive Coordinator. Coach Sark insists he will commit all of his time to serve as the Trojan Head Coach. The year 2015 could be very kind to the Trojans with this new attractive roster.
Schammer47, you now have been selected as the New USC Trojan Athletic Director !
Your incite is remarkably refreshing, the Trojans will now implement your recommendations for the Coaching Staff. We will see you first thing Friday morning, please dress appropriately !
The former Trojan AD is currently on vacation visiting the Psychiatric Lab at Patton State Hospital located in the Inland Empire and won’t be back soon !!
So from all of us let me be the first to say…
Happy Thanksgiving and welcome to the Trojan Family !!
FightOn
How about Muschamp instead of Pendergast? Otherwise you got something here.
You know… if these players who are mentioned, thought next year’s team would vastly improve and become a potent force, they would consider staying. Are we to look at this as Sark not gaining the confidence of the players? I am hoping that schammer47’s posting is somewhat accurate. The players are getting tired of another headcoach who wants to call offensive plays and not manage the whole game for all 4-quarters. I can’t blame these players.
for the most Nick Saban lets the coordinators call his game.
Does Sark have your confidence? Are we to believe that the players know less than you or I know? Ergo, he doesn’t have their confidence.
I think a few of those players need to go have a serious conversation with the undrafted Dion Bailey, and I bet they think twice about trying to take their egos to the NFL.
For most of them a free USC Bachelor’s degree and the networking possibilities is their best hope for lifelong success.
Are you leaving too Scotty? Please say it isn’t so.
