The Gooold Sheet

The venerable betting publication, the Gold Sheet, likes Notre Dame to upset USC, 27-26.

Excerpt: “On the bright side for butter-fingered Irish, they had only one giveaway last week.”

  1. What percentage of the time has this publication been correct this year?

And it takes a 60% winning edge to just break even in ‘Vegas, so like the lottery, it is a loser’s game in the long run.

  2. For our Trojan Football Program to be restored following the ND game this might be the Story Line: 1. AD Haden is told to instruct CS to fire Wilcox and his defense staff, to fire the offense staff except for the OL Coach. CS is told to hire Coach O to coach the defensive line, and to give Haden a list of names CS would hire to replenish the roster. BTW, the new OC will call the plays. 2. Haden says, No way, “He’s my man !” 3, Haden’s fired. 4. Asst AD made interim, gives the news to CS. 5. Coach Sark says, No way, “My way or the highway” 5. Sark is fired. A golden opportunity presents itself to Right the Trojan Ship !!!

  3. Well if the Gooold Sheet which nobody has ever heard of says ND wins then why not just give them the Jeweled Shillelagh right now

  4. ucla’s loss today against Stanford will be the elixir that will produce a victory over the Irish tomorrow –

Per ucla / Stanford – what a complete and utter pathetic performance by the Bruins a mere week after taking it to us for the 3rd year in a row – there it was an opportunity to change the perception of their program but no it was too frightening for them to ‘play the man’

  5. Why is USC favored? That could be insulting enough for the Irish to take USC to the woodshed, again.

  6. I’m too lazy to go back and check, but it seems like the Gold Sheet was wrong about almost every SC game this year.
